I heard a huge "FLA-BOOM!" And Annabeth was blasted upwards, screaming. A light flashed, and I averted my eyes.

When I opened them again, there was just Central Park. The humans didn't seem to see anything wrong. Peeking at the hole, I found that it wasn't there. Suddenly, a groan, which turned into a desperate scream, sounded behind me. Turning around, I saw Annabeth, her head in her hands, and her body shaking from the uncontrollable sobs. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Don't be such a idiot, brother. Don't you know?" Sadie said behind me. I slowly looked around, checking for anything out of place. Wait.
Wait a minute.
Where's Percy?!!!?
"He destroyed the doorway to Tartarus and the monsters b-by sacrificing h-himself" Sniffled Annabeth.
"So that huge BOOM I heard..." I trailed off, not wanting to believe the truth. "Yeah." Annabeth said, "he hid a bomb. I didn't even know it was there. I suppose Leo made it for him, concealed as a piece of clothing or something. But when you say the code, it automatically explodes." I felt a huge wave of guilt wash over me. "No..." Then, Sadie asked the question we all tried to avoid. "Is he dead?" "Well, I think so. Judging by the amount of monsters and injuries he had, he would bleed to death even if he managed to survive the explosion." "Annabeth, I'm so sorry." I said. I know that it wasn't, by a long shot, enough for Percy's sacrifice. "Why would he do this? He barely knows us. And he had tried to protect us and help us escape in every way possible, even when it costs him to be injured" Sadie said. Annabeth tried for a watery laugh: "Have you heard of a fatal flaw?" "No, but I can guess by the name. It means someone's worst flaw, that could even kill them." Annabeth looked impressed: " well,  my fatal flaw for example so hubris-" "Wait, isn't that the veggie stuff?" Sadie interrupted. "No, dummy. That's hummus. Hubris is deadly pride." Annabeth looked at us with amusement, though the sadness in her eyes remained. "What?" I asked. "It's just that... Percy and I were like that. We had the exact same conversation." I didn't really know what to say to that. Annabeth continued:" So my fatal flaw is Hubris, but Percy's is loyalty. He would protect his friends with the cost of anything, even his life. He can't stand people dying because of him." With that, Annabeth started crying again. "Annabeth, don't be too sad. You have friends, right" My sister put her arm around Annabeth  "And you have us. After all, tomorrow is a new day." I said, trying to quote a movie. She smiled:" Gone with the wind. " then, Annabeth stood up and brushed her hair out of her face:" C'mon. We have to tell camp and his mother what happened."

So sorry for this incredibly crappy chapter! I know it sucked! I'm sorry but I needed a filler chappie. Promise on the Styx next chapter would be better.
