Harry's POV

When I realized exactly what I was doing, I pulled away quickly, seeing a very surprised Melody. "I'm sorry." I whispered, with a small smile. "Don't worry about it." she laughed. "No really, I'm sorry. We don't even know each other." I stuttered, losing all the confidence I had only moments ago. She looked at me thoughtfully, and then stated, "Well, then I suggest we get to know each other."

Before I really noticed what I was doing, we were in the midst of another conversation, granted the topic was lighter. Hours flew by like minutes, and suddenly she looked down at her watch, and exclaimed "Breakfast!". I laughed at her giddiness, and got up from the sofa. We strolled toward the great hall in a comfortable silence. "You're not really how I imagined you'd be. Since you're a Slytherin." I noted. She smirked at me, and said "Oh, you were imagining me, were you?" I laughed shyly. "Not to worry, I know I'm irresistible." She flipped her hair in an exaggerated manner, with a grin.

A few minutes went by, and we found ourselves by the Great Hall. Suddenly I remembered that I was still holding my invisibility cloak. "Shoot, I need to drop this off in the common room." She looked down at the phone and it's charger in her own hands. "You want to take these off my hands?"She asked, and held them out to me. I asked her if she would need them for herself, but she shook her head. "I'll be off then, see you around." I smiled, and pecked her cheek, running off before she could respond.

Butterflies swirled in my stomach at the thought of kissing her, and I turned up my pace. I had known her for a day, but it felt like so much longer. We had such a great time together, and there was never really a problem. I liked her. I wouldn't admit that to anyone, but I did. However, she was peculiar. She made several strange remarks, and exclamations. "Holy Hera!" She yelled when I scared her. Why had her and her friends thrown food into a fire at dinner? Why did they act like they'd never seen magic before? I shoved the questions to the back of my head, and tried to think of Quidditch instead.

"Harry, mate! Where have you been?" My best friend, Ron exclaimed when I walked into the dorm room. I held up my cloak and said "Couldn't sleep." "What's that?" I heard a voice ask, and I realized we weren't alone. I turned and saw Connor sat on the floor with his wand and a feather. "Oh, it's just a nightcloak for warmth." But I realized he was looking at Melody's phone. He got up from the floor, and walked closer with his brows furrowed. "I'm sorry, I just thought..." He trailed off, but all of a sudden he was shoving some white cream in my face. I yelped, and jumped back, dropping everything. "What the hell is this?!" Ron and Connor burst out laughing. I wiped my face, and gave them a confused look. "It's just shaving cream, don't worry." Connor said between laughs.

I laughed sarcastically while fetching a towel to clean my face with, relieved that he didn't know I held Melody's cellphone in my hands.

Percy's POV

I sat in the Great Hall, with some scrambled eggs and toast on my plate. There was just a couple of people scattered about. A yawn left my lips, and I took a sip of my juice. After my detention last night, that I earned from punching Draco, I hadn't gotten to bed soon enough. It had been another sleepless night.

I spotted Annabeth sat at her table, amidst a conversation, and I found myself staring. She seemed so comfortable already. I, on the other hand, had managed to scare off most of the students before the first week of school was even over.

Harry walked through the front doors, and sat down in front of me, seeming a little uncomfortable. Had I managed to scare him too? In order to figure out the real depth of my mission here, I had to make him trust me. Right?

"Hey, sleepyhead." I smiled awkwardly, as he chugged his drink. "Morning." He replied, looking away when I met his eyes. "So, how was detention?" He asked, smiling in a mockingly manner. "Oh, I had a grand time. I just love extra work." I laughed. "What about you, what did you get up to while I was suffering?" Harry seemed to tense, and he took a bite of his toast, before shrugging, and replying that he didn't do much. I decided to drop the subject, as it seemed to make him uncomfortable somehow. We sat in silence for a little while, perhaps just too tired to bother making conversation.

Melody was also sat at her table, reading. I nodded subtly towards her, and said to Harry "I think she's pissed. She wouldn't say a word to me yesterday." He raised his eyebrows. "You wouldn't happen to have any advice?" He seemed to tense again, and I furrowed my brows confusedly. "No, never really had siblings.." He trailed off, and again I decided to drop the topic. Had I really scared him that much? Did he not want to talk to me at all now?

Not another word was exchanged during the breakfast, until Connor burst through the doors. "PERCY!" He exclaimed, sprinting towards were we sat. "MELS! ANNABETH! COME HERE!" He threw himself on the bench, and took deep breaths, exhausted. Annabeth and Melody scrambled to reach us, and tried to calm Connor down. "What is it, Connor? What's wrong?" He closed his eyes, and then whispered "Travis. He's gone. I can't find him anywhere."

Annabeth, Melody and I exchanged looks. "When did you see him last?" "Last night, I think? For some reason I can't really remember." He put his head in his hands, and took three deep breaths. "You don't think he's just gone for a morning walk, or something?" Connor shook his head, clearly feeling defeated. "You were in the dorm this morning, why weren't you scared then?" Harry questioned. "I didn't even realize he was gone! How could I not realize he wasn't here?" We all looked around at each other, confused.

"I just have this feeling that something awfuls happened."
