please don't hate me for this ending ;)

Chloe

I never thought I would see him again.

I thought he was gone for good after he packed up everything and left us that day. I thought he didn't have the guts to come find us.

But here he was—standing in front of me. My father.

Instead of his full head of messy brown hair I remember, his head was balding. Instead of the kind green eyes I recalled, the same emerald eyes were dark and tired.

I then realized the many questions I had dreamed of once asking him if I ever got the chance had departed my brain. My mind had run completely dry of things to pester him about.

Instead of looking me in the eye, his emerald irises had wondered off to somewhere else. "Chloe," I heard him mutter. "I never thought I would see you again."

When he reached for my hand, I recoiled, my heart racing a thousand miles an hour. So many thought ran through my mind. I couldn't focus on anything but my dad.

"Why are you here?" I barked, my heart still pumping in my chest.

"I'm Super 4's manager." He confirmed in a shaky voice.

This couldn't be real. It had to be a dream. A twisted, sick dream my mind somehow managed to put together. I was going to wake up soon. I was going to go back to being that loser that everyone picked on.

I somehow longed for that back. It was so much easier. Being that lame girl who sat in the back of the classroom and got picked on was what I wanted right now. She was naïve and clueless about everything. She just dreamed of someday meeting her favorite band. She didn't know the life that would come with that.

My eyes wavered over to Josh for a mere second. He was looking at my father much more different that he was moments before. I had told Josh multiple times about my past, so this was interesting. In his sea blue eyes, I noticed a fire, like if my father did anything to wrong me again, Josh would leap to my defense. His blond eyebrows were furrowed, and his arms were crossed over his broad chest. He gnawed on his bottom lip aggressively, eyeing my father with great anger.

Then, a lonely, solitary tear managed to slip from my eye, causing both males in front of me to leap into action. But I pulled, back, mumbling about how messed up this was.

It completely slipped my mind that the rest of the band was there, witnessing my breakdown. This was the last straw. The last thing I needed right now.

Just then, a familiar brunette appeared, smiling when she caught sight of Josh. Behind her trailed her sister, who held a blond boy on her arm, once had the strongest feelings for.

"Josh," Mackenzie breathed, grinning from ear to ear. "I missed you."

Josh sent her a warning look, as of telling her that now wasn't the time. But she ignored his wary looks, and ran to his arms.

I glared at the two, wiping the hot tears that streamed from my eyelids. Mackenzie sent a knowing look my way, leaning closer to Josh. But he shook her off, leaning in to embrace me in his arms.

I tried to push him off, but soon found myself melting into his arms. I let myself cry into his chest, all my emotions pouring from my soul all at once.

Mackenzie had her coffee-like eyes narrowed, staring at me with jealousy locked in them. She crossed her arms over her chest and muttered something about Josh liking her better.

When I finally composed myself, I turned to face Mackenzie, ready to let loose on her. But then I saw my dad, and prepared myself a long overdue reunion.

"It's been awhile." He said, giving me a small smile.

"Don't smile at me," I snapped. "You don't get to smile at me like nothing's wrong."

His smile faltered, but didn't manage to leave his face. "Now, Chloe, you're old enough to realize why I left so suddenly-"

"No, I'm not! I'll never be old enough to comprehend why my father walked out of my life so early." I shook my head.

"And you know what you left behind?" I asked, wiping the tears that had fallen from my brown eyes.

His eyes looked everywhere but mine. "You left behind four daughters who long for their real father to grow a pair of balls and actually talk things out."

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Mackenzie's faced twist in confusion. "Chloe," She asked. "What are you talking about?"

I looked for Maddie in approval. She just nodded, leaning more her head in Luke's chest. I noticed the tears that were forming in her blue irises.

"Mackenzie," I started, Turing to face her. "I know how fragile of a person you can be, so when I saw this, you have to believe me, okay?"

She nodded weakly.

I took a deep breath. "You how you're nine months older than me?" She nodded. "Well, it turns out that your real dad, is the man I grew up knowing as mine."

Mackenzie gasped, shriveling back in shock. "You mean that makes y-you and I-"

"Sisters," I finished. "Half, but still sisters."

I turned to face my father, who wore a pained expression on his face. He covered his eyes with his hand, clearly stressed out.

Mackenzie turned to Maddie, who just nodded, leaning further into Luke.

It was then I realized that Maddie loved Luke. The way she had brought him showed that she trusted him and wanted him included in this. The way she looked at him gave away quite a lot, as well.

And when he looked down at her, he was also love struck. In his blue eyes held things I had once dreamed of him looking at me with was pointed to her. It was quite beautiful, actually.

Mackenzie covered her mouth with her hand from the revelation, clearly taken aback by this. She held back a sob, but still managed to let it slip.

I turned to lean my head into Josh's chest. Though I still wasn't ready to have him as a boyfriend, I still wanted him around as friend. I needed him in my life, just not in a romantic way.

He leaned down to kiss the top of my head. He slung an arm around my shoulder, whispering comforting words in this time of emotion.

It was then when it all came together.

I realized that Lucas didn't play the bass—he played the drums. Mackenzie would never do this. She always claimed if one of the boys I liked asked her out, she would kick them in the balls and refuse. And Maddie never liked to do anything family matters with Luke. And if there's one thing I know about the Super 4 fans, it's that a girlfriend would never go unnoticed by them.

My mind screwed up.

Right when I had realized what was going on, I woke up with a jolt, sweat trickling down my forehead.

Everything was dream.
