I need your opinion!

Do you vote on a sequel, or vote on a stand-alone book?

I really want to make a series, but am unsure if I should continue with this book. Gifted being the first in the series, or do a new story, unrelated to this one?

Anyways, enjoy the new chapter!

  Chapter 35

''Beware. The fate of the pack now rests in your hands. Don't be foolish'' She says.

''What-Who... who are you?''

''There's no time, wake up and find Nikola!''

I wake up suddenly, springing up from the hard floor. Regretting my quick action, I close my eyes again after they start stinging. From the achiness of my body, I know I'm not home, my bed is comfy and I don't feel comfortable at all.

I try to open my eyes again, the left one opens slowly but my right one is throbbing with pain. I don't remember the cause of the pain, nor do I remember how I got here in the first place. All I know is that I can't see with both eyes.

Using my only functional eye, I look around, but nothing is in sight. All I see is pitch black darkness. I can't feel any inch of my body, all I feel is pain. I can barely see, but as I squint my eye, I see a very faint orb of light in the distance. Somewhere to the right front of the metal bars that are ahead of me.

Wait, metal bars? Am I in some sort of jail? What is going on? Was I drugged or high or something? Mom would kill me if that was true. Alessa would tell Raph and I wouldn't hear the end of it for the rest of my life.

I try standing up, to figure out where I am. I feel my feet moving, along with my legs, slowly cooperating. My balance seems to be off, but I stand nonetheless. I will my body to take a step forward, and so my legs move. Clings of metal are heard, although I'm not sure what is actually clinging.

I keep putting the effort in walking, and surely my body seems to comply. I can't really feel my legs or feet or any other body part, as if it's numb because of the pain, but they're still working. Just as I near the bars, something pulls at my leg, making me fall back on my butt with a thud. It shouldn't have been so painful, but it hurt, sending waves of soreness through my muscles.

''Shit!'' I shout, suddenly feeling extremely drained of energy, lying still on the cold wet ground. Either my senses were numb as well, or I've just fallen on disgusting filthy liquid that smells like sewers. My eye seems to be picking up on small details farther than before, and my ears, they hear a person shuffling.

''Welcome to hell, fellow dungeon mate'' a faint raspy voice says.

I stand up again, about to throw up the none existent food in my empty stomach but managing to hold it in. Taking baby steps forward, afraid for the chains to trip me over again. I look towards the faint light orb. I notice how it's glowing towards a pale shade of pink. ''Seriously. I sort of imagined hell would have some flames to give some light, but this place is even worse.'' My voice doesn't even sound like my own, it sounds like a dying old lady.

''You sound sick. Are you okay?'' The raspy voice says with concern, though I'm unsure if it's genuine or fake. Hmph, that's rude. Saying to a dungeon mate their voice sounds sick is not how you start a friendship. I must have hit my head pretty hard to even be able to think about friendships right now of all times.

''Can't say you sound good either,'' I reply rudely. The person coughs and mutters lowly 'Rude'. I sigh closing my eyes. ''I've definitely been better, thanks for asking''
