“Grammie!” I yelled up the stairs. “I’m going out okay??” I doubt she could hear me. I wrote a note just in case and set it on her rocking chair, which means she would have to go into the kitchen and look under the magnifier to be able to see. I sighed and grabbed my bag sliding it onto my shoulder.

I would never have thought that 19 year old me, right out of high school, would have to give up her writer dreams and move to the middle of nowhere to live with my grandmother. But I loved her, and I loved spending time with her so I guess I didn’t mind even if she was going a bit nuts. I had planned on becoming a journalist, but while that was on the side I wanted to study Marine Biology. But that soon ended so I stayed with journalism and research. I loved researching things figuring them out, but that was something I had been doing since I could crawl. Figure things out, and fix them. Maybe I should have been a architect. Anyway! I’ll leave the rest of that conversation up to my blog. It’ll be ONE day without fucking Vampires entering it.

I was headed to the Police Department. Ever since my grandmothers attack I’ve been obsessed with this town. As much as I hated Vampires, I wanted to figure out why this town was SO obsessed. My first day here, which was two days ago, I stopped at a star bucks and some kids were talking about werewolves. What? I would be representing my grandmother in the Founding Family’s Court. You know the secret one nobody was too know about except the founding families. Yea well, my family’s been here awhile.

I was soon stopped by a bunch of police cars and people surrounding a wreck? I pulled off to the side and walked over to where a few people had surrounded.  Police tape, fuck my life. Not really.

I noticed a blonde in a police uniform, Sheriff Forbes, talking to an extremely attractive guy. But he wasn’t a police officer. Probably a witness, I shrugged. I watched them, he did this weird eye thing and she nodded. He then took her my the shoulders, ‘I’ve got this, go-‘ that’s when I couldn’t read his lips anymore. She started throwing orders around everywhere, the police tape was gone and everyone left.

“Sheriff Forbes!” I yelled. She turned and looked at me, I ran up too her. “So I know you’re dealing with this emer-“

“Actually Damon’s taking care of it.” She glanced back at the man she had been talking to, he looked up and smirked at me. I rolled my eyes. “So anyway what did you want?” She asked turning back at me.

“Ah, yes! I was just heading to the police station to find you. Well, you do know Allison Antoinette? Well I’m her granddaughter-“

“Let me guess Marie?!” The man that had ‘taken care of things’ interrupted and stuck out a hand with a smirk-ish smile. I looked down at his and scratched my head as a sign I wasn’t going to take it. His smirk faltered for a second and but recovered just as fast, he glanced as Sheriff Forbes.

“No actually its Aimee.” I said. He did this weird eyebrow thing, “So anyway, I’m sure you have things to take care of. I need to talk to the Sheriff.”

“Well, anything you need to tell the Sheriff you can tell me. I assure you, I am the leader of the founding family’s” He smirked, must me permanent because it never left his face except to talk.

“That’s what I wanted to talk to her about, well, I want to represent my grandmother.  My family hasn’t represented themselves since my grandfather got sick. And I would like to-“

“You have to be a founding family.”

“I am Damon, did you not just listen to what I just said. I’m sure I can catch on.”

“I don’t think you’ll be able to comprehend-“

“Your little vampire problem? I assure you I know, considering that’s what my grandmother was attacked by” I said in a low voice smiling. He did that eye thing again his jaw clenching.
