The usage of the Vanishing Cabinet as a method of traveling was less pleasant than the Portals the Shadowhunters were accustomed to.
"Remind me to never go through a Vanishing Cabinet again," Simon said, trying not to puke.
"Me too," Leo said, "Not a good idea."
"You'll get used to the feeling the more you do it," Hermione spoke quickly, trying to get everyone's attention. "Now, we need to go. We don't know what may happen within the next 3 hours."
"But sticking to the plan will help lessen the opportunity of getting caught." Annabeth added.
They nodded and broke into their groups and went their separate ways.
The Shadowhunters and the other Demigods followed Ron and Hermione as they navigated their way through the ruins of what might have once been a magnificent structure.
"How bad was this war with Voldemort?" Clary asked. So much of the castle was destroyed. Parts of the ceiling had collapsed and many walls had crumbled to dust.
"The wizard world had been preparing for this war since the day Harry was born," Hermione explained. "It all started with the Potter family... But that's a story for later."
Clary decided not to push her farther to explain. She thought that getting to know more about this recent battle would help her understand what's going on better; It seemed that Hermione was upset about all the damage the Battle of Hogwarts had caused.
The group went up a staircase that started moving. "Sorry, mates. We forgot to tell you that the staircases move," Ron said.
Isabelle was marveling at how everything was full of magic when Simon grasped her hand. "You okay?" he asked. Izzy loved it when he was concerned for her. Simon looked so adorable with a concerned look on his face.
"I'm fine... Just lost in thought... About a lot of stuff."
"I just want to make sure you're okay," Simon said.
"We're here." Hermione announced. The group stopped suddenly in front of the messiest library they had ever seen.
Hermione frowned upon the sight, "The Restricted Area is this way." She gestured the others to follow.
"Let's just hope the Restricted Area is in a better state than this," Ron commented.
Everyone followed her as she tried her best to avoid the masses of destruction everywhere.
