Maybe it was because they were in prominent danger. Or maybe it was the sight of Baz on the floor, hurt and motionless. But it was too late when Snow finally realized what happened.

The monster fell on the floor with a resounding noise, then the room went quiet.

"Dude, you look like the Devil in details." Leo commented, breaking the eerie silence. "Except for, you know, the dark blue flames you just knocked out the monster with."

"Wha-..." True enough Snow's wings and tail weren't invisible anymore. What surprised Snow wasn't that, but the deep shade of blue fire covering his fingertips that wasn't burning him at all.

After staring at the light conjured up in his hands for a good 10 seconds, Simon remembered that Baz was still lying on the floor. He rushed up to the vampire, and while doing so extinguished the fire.

"Baz! Baz, get up..." Simon pleaded, silently willing his friend, longest roommate, to get up.

When he didn't move, Simon started to panic. "Penelope! Do something!"

The other Watford wizard was already by his side. "Simon, relax. The blow from that monster just rendered him unconscious," she placed a hand on his shoulder. "He should come to in a few minutes."

"But I reckon we have a more serious problem: The bloody Hell is wrong with you?" Draco said to Snow.

"For Merlin's sake, Malfoy, you don't just ask someone why they suddenly have wings and a tail!" Ginny shouted.

"To be honest, I don't know..." Even though the flame had died down, Snow couldn't help looking at his hands.

"We should meet the others," Reyna declared. "They might know what this monster is."

"Professor Trelawney, would you like to come with us?" Harry asked the woman who was still frozen from fear.

It took her time to process the question. "Oh, no need. It'll be best that I go to where the wounded are. Calm my nerves, you know? Should I not mention this to the others?"

"It'll help us a lot if you don't." Ginny smiled at the professor as she walked out.
