Chapter 18: Ron's Surprise

I sat with Neville at breakfast the next day as Harry explained to Ron and Hermione about the lessons separately. We still weren't a couple but we were very good friends who had kissed twice. Seamus talked with us a lot to.

"Oh no, I have double charms. I'd better go get my stuff. Bye Neville! Bye Seamus!" And I walked alone to get my books.

At double charms we worked on summoning charms again which I knew how to do pretty well already. I then had transfiguration we worked on vanishing rats. Ginny and I did really well with that. Care of magical creatures went well like always with Hagrid as the teacher. He loved Ginny and I and we worked with our textbook today. Herbology came next then I walked alone back to the common room as Ginny went with Dean to walk around. When I got in I sat near the common room fire and did homework for hours.

"Elizabeth dinner started twenty minutes ago-" said Hermione's voice.

"Oh, lost track of time-" I said as we walked back into the great hall. Hermione told Harry and I over dinner that  she couldn't find a single thing about horcruxes. We didn't know much about them except for the soul part as a horcruxe gave me life. I suddenly got a letter written in Dumbledores writing.

Elizabeth, you have special permission to go the situation you have. It is only so you can register for your license right away. Good luck !

"I'm supposed to go to the apparation classes according to Dumbledore-" I said handing Harry the letter.

"Hmm-" said Hermione looking at the note.

On a Saturday in February the first apparation lesson happened.

"Has anyone here ever apparated by side by side apparation?" Asked the instructor.

I raised my hand as I stood inside my hoop as did Harry.

"Just out of curiosity has anyone ever apparated by themselves?" I again raised my hand though I was the only one and all eyes were on me.

"You miss, you've apparated alone?" Asked the man.

"Yes," I answered from my hoop.

"Are you Miss Elizabeth Potter?" Asked the man.

"Yes," I said again trying to ignore all the eyes staring at me.

"Do you think you could try to apparate right now?" Asked the man. I feel nervous.

"I don't know-" I stammered. "I've only apparated once in a emergency-" I said.

"Just try," said the man.

"O-okay," I said feeling defeated. I thought about moving up to where the man stood and sure enough after a few minutes I found myself standing in the front of the room. I heard clapping a bit.

"Good job," said the instructor. "Do you want to try to apparate back to your spot?" He asked me.

"I'll try again-" and I found myself at my spot. I heard Draco say something about me to Crabbe. The rest of the lesson was easy for me but everyone else seemed to have a lot of trouble apparating. I was allowed to stop going to lesso as after the third lesson but I still couldn't be tested until I turned seventeen which wasn't till October.
