She walks with confidence in every step

The look on her face shows no fear

But little does she know it the end is near

The scars on her heart weigh her down

Like an anchor in the icy sea

She shuts out the past

locked behind closed doors

never to be reopened.

Never will her heart restore

All that was lost

All that was broken

Thousands of thoughts fill her head

all at once like a train wreck

every night she lay in bed.

Thinking. Crying. Dreaming.
