RENAE'S POV
I my heart was beating fast. I couldn't breathe. It's like time slowed down as I watched stare at each other.
"Nice car" West said smiling at her.
"You too" she said as she smiled and walked away.
It was then I noticed they had the same exact car but different colors. Was that what they were looking at the whole time?
"Babe you okay you look a little pale" he said concerned.
"I'm fine" I lied. The truth was I almost had a heart attack.
"Let's get you home" he said opening the door for me.
We drove home in silence with only the radio playing softly in the background as I tried to get myself under control.
All I wanted to do was go through those files and end this before things got out of control. We checked on Wesley and I was grateful he was sleeping. I was even more grateful when West said he had some work to do in his office and would be coming to bed late.
When I finally was alone I tore open my purse and ripped open the file.
It contained all her basic information. Her full was Lacey Diane Graceson and she was 22 years old. Her father was a beta and died when she was seven and her mother died when she was twelve. Since then had been raised by her aunt and uncle. She shifted when she was sixteen. She was mateless and spent her time teaching the pups.
The only useful thing was that she had beta blood. There could be no more slip ups like the one earlier because her wolf was strong and eventually would figure out West was her mate. I was about to close the file when I saw a page labeled personal information.
It had the name of her best friends. It also had her life's ambition which was to find her mate and live happily. Her favorite food was pasta and she liked to eat at a restaurant called Mama Rosa's.
I didn't know why this page was in her fold but I was glad it was. Tommorrow I would casually show up at her favorite restaurant and hope she was there.
WEST'S POV
When the woman pulled up in the car I immediately recognized her as the one from the restaurant that night. She was attractive. As much as I hated to admit it I couldn't forget her face.
I almost smiled when I realized we drove the same car. I quickly shook the thought. I had a wife and kid and my Renae was perfect. I realized that I had been starring too long and I prayed Renae didn't notice. I would never cheat on her and no matter how sexy it was to see her jealous I didn't want her feeling insecure.
When we got back home I went to my office. I had a lot on my mind. Renae tried to act as though she was fine but I knew better. She recognized that woma. I knew by the was she tensed up when she saw her. She was quite the whole ride home. I knew she was questioning my love for her deep down even though she wouldn't admit it. My wolf was silent and I could sense his confusion.
I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair frustrated. I only hoped all this would blow over. After all I didn't even know the woman and would never see her again. Even if I did nothing would be strong enough to mess up what I had with my true mate.
