Snow and rain followed the Howling Commandos everywhere they travelled. At least that's what it seemed like when Steve woke up to steady rainfall and chilling cold. He pulled the thin blankets under his chin.

Steve had just gotten warm when it hit him. He really had to pee. He groaned, reluctantly pulling the cover off of him. He put one foot on the ground, shivering. Steve stood up and made his way to the door. He was almost there when he stumbled onto his shield. It came flying up, banging into his shin with a loud thud.

"Dammit!" Steve said loudly.

He held onto his leg, swearing at the weapon he was usually so smooth with. Bucky had been awoken by the muffled curses and was sitting up in his cot.

"Steve, what the-"he said tiredly as he looked over his best friend.

Bucky saw the way Steve was clutching his leg and the shield laying in front of him. He burst out laughing as soon as he pieced the scenario together.

"Oh my God... That's priceless..." Bucky said, doubled over laughing. "Guys wake up!"

The Commandos sat up, rubbing their eyes. All of them looked very disoriented.

"This better be good, Barnes." One of them growled.

The still laughing Bucky pointed at Steve, who was now glaring at Bucky intensely. The team cracked up, having various comments over his clumsiness.

"Just hilarious." Steve grumbled, stepping outside to escape the ridicule that was coming.

The middle of the night was one of the rare times that the Avengers Tower was silent. The parties were over and everyone was asleep.

Steve was wide awake with you dreaming in his arms. He couldn't sleep, so he decided to enjoy the quiet and go to the kitchen. He slid his arms from around you and got up quietly.

He had walked a few feet from the bed, wincing at the cold wood floor beneath him. He had failed to notice his shield laying in front of the door.

Steve took a few more steps before realizing his mistake. He tripped over the shield, going airborne for a moment before hitting the door and falling to the ground. He cursed, holding a hand to his nose.

You shot up in bed, looking frantically around the room for your boyfriend or the source of the noise.

"Steve!" You said, shuffling out of bed.

He sat up, still holding his nose. You knelt beside him.

"What'd you do?" You asked, moving his hand away.

"I kinda-uh, tripped over my shield." He said, looking down at the floor.

"Are you alright?" You asked.

He nodded slowly.

You studied his face for a minute, making sure he wasn't kidding, before doubling over laughing at his clumsiness.
