Morning voices

I awoke to the sound of my aunts extremely loud alarm clock, at first I was abit dazed as I hadn't woken up to these surroundings before but after a minute or so my brain power started to kick in and I remembered everything.

I trudged out of the spare room I had slept in the previous night as there was no hope of me getting back to sleep. As I entered the kitchen I heard voices. I couldn't be bothered to sneak a peak as to who it was so I just walked straight in there.

Unlucky for me I've never been one of those people who wakes up in the morning and they look fabulous and everything just goes right for them. So of course sat in the kitchen talking to Toby was none other than luke. The only pyjamas i could find to wear from my suitcase last night where ones i had recieved for my fifteenth birthday (so what im short) that where patterened with the batman symbol all over. I blushed a the darkest of reds before apologising and quickly shuffling away.

I got changed into my high wasted dark blue jeans,my nirvana t-shirt,and a leather jacket. I put on some white frilly socks and added the finishing touches to my usual make up routine and looked in the mirror. I didn't do a bad job,who am I kidding I look like I tried to hard. I contemplated staying in my room all day but I remembered I got the keys to my apartment today and I guess you could say I was quite excited.

I re-entered the room to see if my keys had arrived yet.

"Hey Lace, Flora's getting ready for work but she said something about your keys being ready." Luke said in between spooning cereal into his mouth. I sqealed and jumped up and down like a fangirl. I composed myself long enough to see Toby giggling at me and Luke smirking, his eyebrow raised. I blushed a deep crimson.

"I take it you're excited then?" Luke asked, still smirking.

"Just a bit, yeah." I replied sarcastically. I walked over to where my cousin and Luke were sitting and sat down opposite them. I grabbed a piece of toast and shoved it into my mouth. I'm not one of those girls who only eats salads in front of guys, but I don't normally eat this messily. However, I was starving and therefore didn't care what they thought at this precise moment.

"Did Flora say when I could go over?" I asked, just managing to swallow down the hot toast.

"Yeah, any time. Actually I kinda wanna see it too, the last guy who lived there seemed weird, it would be cool to see his apartment." Luke replied, kind of awkwardly.

"Sure, gimme a sec to finish this though." I was really enjoying this toast.

When I finished I began to leave before Luke called out "leaving without me are we" quoting himself from the day before. I just rolled my eyes and gestured for him to follow me. He smirked knowing he had got what he wanted.

We walked over to the lift and hopped in. There was scilence,not an awkward one,a good kind of scilence. *ding* we got out at the ground floor and made our way over to the busy looking receptionist. He was on the phone whilst trying to sort out some paper work. He looked around mid forties and was wearing the standard employee uniform-navy blazer,tie and white shirt with black trousers and shoes.

After what seemed like forever he hung up the phone grunting. "What" he said rather rudely.

I turned to Luke rolling my eyes causing him to giggle quietly. "Keys for Lacey foster?" It wasn't really a question but I made my voice go higher at the end so I wouldn't sound rude.

"I.D" he said blandly. I handed him my I.D and fake smiled. He went to get the keys but when he bent over his trousers went to far down and lets just say we saw a little but more of that man than we bargained for. Luke let out a big laugh and the man looked at us strange before continuing to find my keys. I turned around and pulled Luke's beanie over his face in an attempt to shut him up. Coincidentally it just made him laugh more. The man finally turned around handing me my keys I thanked him and walked away pulling Luke by the arm in excitement.

When we got to the lift I realised Luke still had the beanie over his face so I pulled it completely off. He adjusted to the light before I rather stupidly said aloud "you have sex hair."

"Umm what" Luke looked at me confused. I guess they don't use that phrase here.

"It basically means messy hair" I informed him awkwardly. I had to put my cold hands on my cheeks to stop myself from blushing.

"Oh phew" Luke laughed as he pulled my hands away from my face sending fireworks up my arms my heart was racing. He put my hands back down by my side just as the elevator stopped at the floor below my aunts. Luke still hadnt let go of my hands I xoughed awkwardly and he let go apologising.

I hopped out of the lift and skipped along the corridors trying to find apartment 16. Luke chuckled at this. I was so excited I went past it. Lukestopped and coughed. He pointed at the door and I blushed at my stupidity,this earned me another laugh from luke.

I fiddled around with keys for a while as there was two-one for the front door one for the balcony. I found the right one and twisted it in the door pulling out afterwards. I turned the door handle and in one smooth motion pushed the cream door open. We stood there with our mouths open in astonishment.
