chloe dreaded prom considering every year out of all the girls she was always the one left without a date. "i can hook you up with one of the lacrosse players if you want." lydia offered as she looked through a rack of expensive dresses.
"it's okay. i don't think i'm going to go." chloe muttered as she avoided her gaze knowing lydia would cause a scene.
"what?" lydia yelled as she stopped looking through the dresses and gave her friend her full attention. "well why?" she asked.
"i really don't see the point in going. you, hayden, and malia all have dates so if i just tagged along that'd be so weird. i'd be third wheeling all of you." chloe admitted.
"well chloe i don't really care because you're going whether you want to or not and it's going to be the best night of you life." lydia said as she handed chloe a handful of dresses to try on.
"i guess," chloe just said, not in the mood to argue anymore.

"this is the dumbest idea i've ever had." chloe said to stiles and lydia.
"calm down chloe, you look great. trust me! it's not gonna be that bad i promise you." stiles said trying and failing to hype the girl up.
"that's easy for you to say, you're here with lydia!" y/n exclaimed as she pointed at their interlocked hands.
"if it makes you feel any better scott doesn't have a date either." lydia said sending chloe a sly smile. she knew how much the girl adored the lacrosse player.
"stop," was all chloe said before she walked up the outdoor stairs, holding her dress up from dragging as stiles and lydia trailed behind her.
chloe walked into the large crowded gym where the school's basketball and softball games often toke place at. except now it had been decorated for a dance and the lights were low and dim.
chloe turned to talk to stiles and lydia but stopped when she saw them kissing. she sighed before turning and scanning the room for malia to only find her laughing with her date, isaac. liam and hayden then both walked past the girl sending her smiles and waves.
chloe sighed before heading for the punch table so it looked like she was at least doing something. "no date either?" a voice asked from behind her as she poured herself a cup of punch. chloe knew who's voice it was instantly. "yea, you too?" she asked the boy.
even though she obviously knew he was alone since both kira and allison were no longer around. "yes ma'am." he said before moving to the side of chloe and pouring himself some punch too. "oh," was all chloe said as she awkwardly stood there.
"you look great though. new hair color?" he asked as he grabbed a lock of chloe's blue hair and twirled it in between his fingers.
"thank you, and yea." she said with a small shy smile as she looked from his eyes back down to the punch table.
suddenly a very upbeat song came on making scott smirk. "well since we're both here by ourselves, would you care to dance?" he asked the girl as he stuck out his hand towards her.
"yes!" chloe said a little too enthusiastically which made scott laugh. he grabbed her hand and led her to the dance floor with a smile on both of their lips. the two danced to the song colors by halsey and enjoyed each other's presence. suddenly a new song came on changing the mood completely. this song was a very very slow song.
chloe looked around and saw all the pairs that came together wrap their arms around one another. meanwhile once lydia met her gaze both her and stiles sent a smile and a thumbs up from the d.j table.
scott and chloe both turned to each other with small smiles. "do you mind?" scott asked as he gestured to her waist. "not at all." chloe admitted as she wrapped her arms around his own neck.
the two stayed with their arms wrapped around each other as they slowly danced to the song. small smiles on both of their lips.
"you're really pretty chloe." scott admitted as he moved his face closer to the girls. "i could say the same about you scott." chloe admitted as she too moved her face closer to his.
the too slowly collided their lips and allowed small smiles to form on their faces when they pulled away.
"woah," the two both said as they pulled away and rested their foreheads against each other's. "i really like you." scott admitted making chloe smile. "i really like you too scott." chloe said.
"well in that case would it be okay if i asked you on a date?" scott asked making chloe smile. "it'd be more than okay," she said before resting her head on his shoulder as they both continued to slow dance to the song.
