I set the box on the couch the memories of the other day still in my head, "Put your damn gun down or I won't hesitate to k-kill you!" I screamed pointing the gun at the deranged man as he held the poor girl by the throat, gun to her head. No matter how hard I wanted it to work I knew it wouldn't, either the innocent girl would die or the insane man was. "You don't have the balls to sweetie." He laughed as all my force watched from the outside. "You sure about that?" I yelled raising the gun higher to his head. "Positive because I'm the one who runs this show, with one move of my finger she's dead and so is your career." He replied, a dry chuckle at the end. "You wouldn-
*Bang*
The little girls body fell to the floor as I screamed no, blood spraying on my face. Another bang sounded and the man was on the floor dead. I ran towards the little girls body, tears pouring out of my eyes hoping although I knew she was dead she would be alright. I reached her body, pulling it into my arms. "It's o-okay, thank y-you." She said before her hand hit the floor leaving me there screaming no, tears pouring down my face as my sergeant ran in pulling me away."

I didn't even realize I was crying until I wiped away the few tears that escaped and turned around to be met with a hard chest. I quickly pulled out my gun as he pulled his out to, we were both aiming guns at each other. "Put your gun down I'm a deputy!" I screamed. "Hey it's okay! I'm a deputy too." He said putting his gun in his pocket pulling out his badge.

"Deputy Parrish?" I read the small print on his name. "I prefer Jordan and you are?" He asked. "Y/N Y/L/N." I said moving my shirt so he could see my badge. "What are you doing here?" I asked just realizing we were in my house. "I'm your neighbor, came to say hi. You alright?" He asked a worried look coming over his face. "Fine." I plain out said not meeting his gaze. "It's okay not to be you know." He said grabbing my hand taking me to the cluttered sofa. After a few moments of silence I spoke,"A young girl was killed when I was on force, I tried saving her but it was to late, she was d-dead." I said as he patted my back in comfort. "It's okay, things happen. If it makes you feel better my friends girlfriend died, he tried saving her but he was to late." He said his hand falling from my shoulder.

I just sent him a small sad smile, he shot one back to. "Hey how about we go get some coffee, get our minds off things?" He asked grabbing my hand getting up. "I would like that," I said smiling.
