Differences - Kaoru x reader

Chapter 14

You could feel your consciousness tripping insults at you as you stood, watching everyone. Every single one of the other girls was running round in bikinis. You clenched your sun top as you scanned around till you found Haruhi. You wandered down, sitting down next to her.
"You not going in?" She moved her head to the side to look at you.
"I can't really. And I thought this was going to be fun." You chuckle lightly, bringing your knees up to your chest. You rest your head on your knees as you watch the boys doing their usual act.
"I can't believe they're all fooled by them." Haruhi nodded. You lay back in the shade, shutting your eyes.
"Aren't you going in?" Your eyes snap open again as Haruhi asks you.
"I don't know. Maybe later." You rest your head on your hands and shut your eyes again, until someone calling your name interrupts you again. You sit up and look around to find Kaoru trying to get you to come over. You sigh and stand up.
"I guess I am going in now after all." You depart from Haruhi and jog over to Kaoru. You bend down and catch your breath, before looking back up at him. You raise your eyebrows when you see blood slowly trickling down from his nose. Pulling a tissue from who knows where, lean up to him and wipe his nose.
"Did you get whacked by the volleyball or something?" But Kaoru was frozen, his face slowly reddening.
"Um... Okay? What did you want me for?" He shook himself out of it and smiled.
"I just wanted you to come and play with us?" You giggle lightly at him.
"Why not? I'm already here, aren't I?" You spent however long playing volleyball with Kaoru and Hikaru, even if Hikaru would occasionally smash the ball at you. You'd just smash it back (and you usually won). You'd swap out every so often for the other girls to play. Felt a hand grip your wrist as you were dragged towards the ocean. You found yourself laughing as Kaoru picked you up, then screaming lightly as he threw you, drenching you through. You sat up giggling, still half submerged in the water. You got the other girls in too, and eventually convinced Hikaru to join in and soon had him on Kaoru's shoulders laughing as you commenced a chicken fight. You smiled as you saw everyone, you attention wavering when you heard Haruhi yelling about a 'major haul' whilst holding a crab.

You wandered over to Haruhi after a while, to find her gazing up at a large platform like boulder.
"Hey. You should get down from there?" You followed her gaze to see three girls standing atop it admiring the scene. You narrowed your eyebrows as you Saw them, until you saw two guys joining them. You suddenly felt someone pulling your arms, forcing you up the boulder.
"Come on. We have to help them." Haruhi pulled you up till you were both at the top.
"Hey! Leave them alone!" The men spun round as Haruhi called. They approached slowly until one of them grabbed Haruhi and held her to the edge of the drop. Your attention wavered as you felt the other guy approach you, pulling at the hem of your sun shirt.
"How 'bout you take this off and show me somethings." You took a sharp intake of breath as you gripped you hands together and your elbow made contact with his gut. He fell back just as Tamaki rushed past you and the other guy came towards you. Your foot made contact with his face and he stumbled backwards. You rotated yourself in the small space till you were at the edge as the both got up and advanced at you. You accidentally looked down behind you as you became disorientated from the height.. You gulped, seeing Hikaru and Kaoru running up behind the men just as the small amount of rock below you broke away. You held you breath as you dropped, but stopped as you felt a tight grip around your forearm. You felt the tears dripping down your chin as you were pulled back up, you breath held till you felt ground under you feet again. You wrapped your arms around Kaoru, shoving your face into the crook of his neck.
"So high. So very high." You murmured. You felt Kaoru pull away, only to launch himself at the men. Kyoya only just managed to pull him and Hikaru from them before he escorted the men away. You felt the weight disappear from your feet again as Kaoru lifted you up and headed down back to the beach.
"I can walk you know." You pouted. But he only smiled at you. You sighed and let him do whatever. He walked back to the others. They all seemed rather annoyed at the now very wet Haruhi.
"What were you thinking?! You know, you're not like Honey-senpai. You're not a marshal arts master. Why did you confront them? What made you think you would stand a chance? You against two boys." Tamaki grasped Haruhi's shoulders.
"But it doesn't matter that they're boys and I'm a girl. I was there, I had to do something. There wasn't anytime to think!" Haruhi retorted.
"That's no excuse, you idiot." Tamaki interrupted. "Don't forget you're a girl." You almost felt like adding in a few comments, but you just scowled.
"Look. I'm sorry you had to come and save me senpai. But I don't understand why you're so mad at me right now. I don't think I did anything wrong!" Even you knew she was wrong at that point.
"You don't think so. Fine whatever you say." Tamaki started to walk away. "But I'm not speaking to you until you can admit that you were wrong." And he was gone. You felt you scowl leave as he left. Haruhi turned towards Kaoru and Hikaru.
"You guys don't think that I'm wrong?" You felt the arms around you tighten.
"You put Y/N in danger. And-... Kaoru trailed off. Hikaru turned and started to leave, closely followed by Kaoru and you. Honey followed, bringing Mori with him, leaving Haruhi alone on the beach.
