Kaneki Ken, a guy you had been friends with since the first day you moved here. Between Kaneki being a very polite and kind person, you felt like you could tell him anything. Little did you know that's what would end up getting you in this mess in the first place.

"Kaneki! This is the guy I was telling you about! His names Yatio." You said excitedly, "Why don't the two of you talk for a minute while I go talk to Touka for a minute. We're working on a project together."

"Nice to meet you, Yatio." Kaneki said, smiling happily at him.

"Nice to meet you too." Yatio replied, "I've heard a lot about you."

"R-Really?" Kaneki ask, trying to hide his blush.

"Yeah." Yatio replied, laughing a bit as he noticed the boys blush. "(Y/n)'s said a lot of good things about you. Like how you've helped (Reader) with homework, tutoring, and just there for someone to talk to."

Kaneki felt his face turn bright red as his heart pounding rapidly in his chest at the thought of you talking about him like that to others.

'Maybe (Y/n) really dose like me and just dated Yatio, because (Y/n) doesn't think I like (Y/n).' Kaneki thought hopefully.

That is, before Yatio added- "You're like a brother figure to (Reader)."

Kaneki was just about to reply when Yatio's watch suddenly started beeping.

"Oh, we need to go. The movies going to start soon. It was nice to meet you, Kaneki."

"You too." Kaneki replied, smiling as the two of you began to walk away.

Kaneki's smile quickly fell into a frown as he watched Yatio hold your hand and snuggle close to you as the two of you walked. On the outside Yatio seemed to be smiling lovingly at you, but he was trying to manipulate you, at least in Kaneki's eyes. Kaneki slightly glared down at the ground.

'Do I even have a chance with (Reader)? If I would tell (Y/n) how I feel would (Y/n) accept my feelings and leave him? The way (Y/n) looked at him makes in see like trying to find a needle in a haystack in the dark. What am I going to do?' Kaneki thought, a shining silver item sticking out of one of the drawers caught his attention.
