Lucas's POV
Ah Valentines Day, how I dread this day. We still haven't adressed New Years and Riley knows I like Maya but she's definitely not over me. Thank God it's on a weekend. Farkle amd Smakle are going out and the rest of us agreed to just hang out as friends.
"What do you guys wanna do?" Zay asked. They were all at Topanga's discussing their plans for the rest of the holiday.
"I was thinking maybe we could go see a show." Lucas said
"A show Huckleberry? What is this the 60's." Maya joked
"Fine a movie." He said annoyed but couldn't help but crack smile.

"What now?" Riley asked
"We can go to my place, I'm sure my folks are out." Lucas said
"Folks." Maya mocked in her best country accent
"Come on Maya, can I get a day off?" Lucas asked her
"Nope." She said popping the p.
"Even if their there my Mama won't mind."
"Mama." Maya smirked
"Please be kind." He sighed softly
"Let us go." Zay said pointing forward.
Maya's POV
I'm not sure what to believe anymore. I mean just when I thought I'd have a chance it was ruined. How am I supposed to know that's not gonna happen again.
"So Short Stack what are you thinking?" Lucas asked
"It's nothing."
"Spill." Riley demanded
"Riles I need you to trust me on this. It's nothing." She said making Lucas frown at her
"Ring Power!" Riley exclaimed
"Curses!" Maya yelled "Fine I didn't want to bring this up but somebody," She said motioning to Riley "Just had to know. I was thinking about," She was cut off by Lucas
"You know what Riley why don't you and Zay go and get some snacks." He said all of a sudden
"Why?" Riley asked stubbornly
"Lets go Sunshine." Zay said dragging her out and closing the door behind them
"Maya you don't have to tell Riley what you were thinking, and I think we're thinking the same thing."
She sighed" Who knew you could have so much 'Relationship' drama in the 8th grade." Maya said
"Yeah." He laughed "You do know that I don't like Riley like that?"
"Did you ever like her?" Maya asked
"Briefly, but as the school years progressed it was more like everyone thought I was spossed to be her 'Prince Charming' and that was my roll. When we went to Texas it was a real eye opener for me. I was kind of upest that she threw away what ever relationship we had, I guess I just liked playing hero. Maya why did you step back?" Lucas asked
"Because everything good happens to Riley. I saw she liked a boy and as her best friend it was my job to make her happy," Lucas cut her off
"At the expense of your own happiness? Maya stop being so selfless. Start thinking about Maya sometimes, not everything is about Riley." Lucas said
"We couldn't find anything." Zay said bursting though the door "Are you guys okay?"
"Yeah we're fine." Lucas said like nothing had aqhappened.
"Yeah everything's cool." Maya said
"I think I'm gonna go." Riley stated awkwardly
"Yeah me too." Zay said
"See you guys at school tomorrow." Riley said as she walked out with Zay.
"Well I guess it's just us." Lucas said
"Don't make it weird." Maya told him
He pouted but couldn't keep from smiling
"So you wanna watch another movie?" Lucas asked
"I guess." She shrugged
Lucas jumped on his bed attempting a pose and flipping his head back trying to be sexy
"You had to be weird." Maya complained
"Sure did." He said pulling her onto the bed "Now lets see what's on."

"Lucas Friar!" Maya was woken up to yelling
"I'm up! I'M UP!" He said literally jumping up
"It is 2:30 A.M why is there a girl in your bed?" His father questioned
"Sir you know Maya." Lucas said frowning
"That doesn't answer my question."
"I'm sorry Sir. We were watching movies and I guess we fell asleep." Lucas explained to his father
"You know I'm just gonna go home." Maya said getting up
"Do you want me to walk you?" Lucas asked, almost forgetting about his father.
"No it's fine, nice seeing you again Mr. Friar." She said moving past him
This will probably be the only time I'm looking forward to school, these next couple of months before high school are going to be very interesting.
