"Are you ready for summer?" Lucas asked

"Hell yeah." Maya exclaimed

"Of course you are."

"Lucas, are you going back to Texas again this year?"

"Yeah, but I'm gonna be gone the whole time and I don't want to go." He said sitting down

Honestly he didn't, but of course he was being forced by his father. Who thought he needed to be productive, that he was too old to not work.

"We can still talk to each other, you know?"

"Yeah Maya, but it's not the same. Honestly I hate going back. Yeah I love my family, but it just brings up bad memories. Last time we I went I was preoccupied, now it's gonna be just like before when I lived there. The same people and Zay's not even gonna be there"

"It'll be fine." She said rubbing his back

"You only say that now." He sighed "I think it's best if I go home, I have to pack."

"Okay." Maya said softly

"I'm sorry, I just don't want to leave." Lucas said hanging his head "I just can't believe he's forcing me to go."

"It'll be fine."

"Alright heathens," Cory started "We have finished finals, no more tests for you." The whole class cheered except Lucas who looked overly pissed, and Maya who looked very confused
"Maya I thought you of all people would be excited."

"Oh, I am Mr. Matthews. Just thinking about something." She smiled

"Yeah okay. I for one am happy I won't see any of you for a whole three months."

"Dad, we live together." Riley laughed

"So." Cory sassed

"And these are my friends, you'll most likely see them."

He played with the watch on his wrist "So."

"Maya practically lives with us." She continued which made the rest of them chuckle

"Alright fine, I give up. You drive one hard bargain."

She just grinned at him.

Maya looked over at Lucas who was deep in thought, she didn't want him to go either, but he had no choice.

Maya cleared her throat as they walked home, Lucas would be leaving tomorrow, they all had hung out at Topanga's as  a small going away party.

"Are you packed?" She asked quietly

"Yes, unfortunately." He laughed "I'm gonna miss you." Lucas said hugging her

"I'm gonna miss you too."

"We'll still talk every day?"

"I'll try my best."

"That's good enough for me."

"Hopefully it'll be better than you expect." She said unlocking her door

"I hope too, I'll see you when school starts up again."

"I'll be here waiting."

"And I'm thankful for that," He paused "Maya you know I love you right."

"Of course I do Huckleberry, and I love you too."

"That's all I needed to hear." Lucas grinned

"And that's good enough for me."
