Chapter 13

"How are you enjoying yourself?" he asked as he picked up his fork and began to eat.

"Um..I've been enjoying myself fine I guess," he was still staring at me. Was it my hair? Did I have something on my face? I quickly diverted my eyes to my plate hoping for some other form of distraction. That attempt was a fail because I still felt his fathers eyes boring into my brain. As if he were searching for any clues as to why I wouldn't be a perfect match for his son.

"Oh give her a break will you! He is only messing with you Liz," Zain said as I attempted to rest his hand on my knee, which I further brushed off. Everyone attempted to not notice my cold reaction towards him. His dad finally stopped staring at me and started laughing. What a relief.

"I'm happy you're here Elizabeth. It's very nice to meet you. I trust that you will bring my son happiness." he said as he smiled at me. I smiled back and began eating again.

Everyone was talking and eating for at least an hour. I tried to blend in but that was like a priest blending in at a strip club; not gonna happen. I'm glad Zain's  mother cooked so much food because between Zain and his brothers, they could eat enough food to feed at least thirty people. I guess that's one of the perks of being a werewolf; you can eat all you want but never get fat. During breakfast I still managed to ignore Zain despite what my wolf said. Besides it is better this way. This way he will know I'm serious and I'm not going to change my mind until he opens up to me about the attack. Im Luna now so that means I should be included in every decision that's made. Just as I was about to get up and help Zain's mother wash the dishes I felt someone grab my wrist. By the tingling feeling that went up my body, I instantly knew it was Zain. Oh boy.

"What?!" I half whispered and half yelled.

"Oh so now your talking to me?" Zain said as He pulled me away to our room. "Stop acting like a child Liz!"

"I'm not acting like a child. You are." I said as I stubbornly crossed my arms and plopped on the bed. Okay, I guess I am being pretty childish about this whole thing. Maybe there is a reason why Zain won't tell me about the attack. Maybe he just wants to protect me and that was the best way he thought he could. Maybe.

"Relationships are built on trust and communication Liz. You can't keep ignoring me. First, it's disrespectful and rude! I won't let you disrespect me in front of my pack Liz! I'm still your Alpha and I won't let this continue," I could tell I had really pissed him off. I slowly started to undress my arms. He was right. I may be his mate and I may be Luna. But Zain is the Alpha.

"And secondly, your my mate. I love you Liz. I need you to trust me. I will tell you about the attack. I promise. I just didn't want to talk about it at the moment." he kneeled down and placed his hands on the side of my face. "So, can you please talk to me baby?"

I smiled and leaned into him, "I'm sorry. You're right. Forgive me. I was being immature." And just like that I caved in. Something tells me this would be not be the only time I would cave in to this Alpha.

Alright it's not much of an update but I hope that is will suffice!! Ive been super busy with college and life and work but things are slowing down and hopefully I can update regularly. I started this book when I was 16..I'm 19 now and I have a whole new perspective on life go feel like that might affect my writing somehow).
