"My baby!!" My mother wailed as she burst through the hospital door.
"Mom, I'm okay," I said with a sigh. Although I was extremely irritated that my parents had been keeping secrets from me; I still knew my mother loved me dearly.
"How you holding up troop?"My dad asked me. He had been calling me troop since as long as I could walk. I was a daddy's girl and there was no mistaking it. My dad was always the one who would be there for me whenever I needed him. My mom was as well but she did more worrying about me than anything. As I looked up at my parents faces I tried to wrap my brain around the fact that my parents kept a huge secret from me. Why would they do that? Didn't they think I needed to know? I didn't even realize I was getting angry until Zain put his hand on my arm and said something along the lines of "its ok" but really it wasn't okay. My parents had kept something huge from me.
"I'm irritated Dad. Why would you guys keep something so huge away from me?! I deserved to know that I was a freaking dog!" I normally would have never talked to my parents like that but at that moment I felt like I could have been let off the hook for my outburst.
"Elizabeth baby, we thought it was best for you. We cant get into everything right now but we really need you to just get all your strength back." my mother said as she sat in the other chair beside my bed since Zain was in the other one.
"You thought it was best? So it was okay to keep a secret from me but what exactly did you have planned when I became a wolf? Were you two going to just keep lying!?"
"Elizabeth Ann! Watch your tone." my father said. I knew it was time for me to be quiet because he used his stern father voice one me.
"Maybe Elizabeth should rest a bit?" Zain asked. It was a question but you could tell that it was a statement.
"Okay, let us know when she is ready to talk," my mother replied to Zain. "We really are sorry Elizabeth. We were were just trying to protect you."
In that moment I really felt bad about yelling at my parents. Maybe they really were just trying to protect me from this lifestyle. I've seen Teen Wolf and the werewolf lifestyle looks pretty scary. Instead of apologizing I smiled and said my goodbyes. After they had left Zain looked over to me and said,
"We are nothing like Teen Wolf."
"Well that's the only thing I had to compare all of this to," I laughed.
"And we aren't dogs either." he said as he laughed.
"I was mad so I think you can let that one go."
