Katniss POV

The next morning I layer in bed a little longer than usual. Asking myself questions.

Will Haymitch be angry?

What happens if Peeta turns against me? Will I melt as I see his face when I'm going to..... "Kill" him. I mean, supposed to "kill" him.

Someone knocked on my door and I realized that it had been half an hour.

"Katniss! Get up! Tomorrow is the big day and we need to train you hard one more day!" Effie says.

Ughhh... Training.

I get to the training "arena" as they call it and the first person I see is obviously... Peeta.

He starts walking towards me and I turn to look away.

Cato catches my eye on him. He looks at me and notices the tears running down my cheeks. He starts speed walking towards me. Trying to race Peeta.

Peeta almost reaches me before Cato, but Cato cuts him off.

He grabs me and pulls me behind him.

"Let me talk with her!" Peeta says.

"No! She's busy." Cato quickly responds.

Peeta peeks around Cato's shoulder and notices me wiping tears over and over again.

"Can't you see she can barely look at you without crying? You are making things worse. Just go." Cato says.

"What if I don't?" Peeta answers.

"Then I'll make you." Cato explains.

I hate it when they fight. It makes my stomach feel strange.

"How? We're surrounded by guards. You can't lay a finger with in a centimeter of me and you'll be dead. Are you her body guard or something?" He asks Cato.

"No. Just a protector. She would do the same for me." Cato replies.

Peetas face goes from an angered look to a confused to a hurt look. He looks down.

"I see." He says.

"Yes. You obviously do by the look on your face." Cato smirks.

"See you in the arena Katniss. And may the odds be ever in your favour." He whispers.

Cato turns around still watching Peeta. By the time Peeta was gone Cato was already asking me if I was okay.

"I'm fine. Thank you." I say trying to put on a fake smile.

"That's a fake smile." He says.

I look down and blush.

"Train with me?" He asks.

"Sure." I say with a grin.

We walk close enough that we brush shoulders.

"Now that's, your real smile." He says with a wink.

When training was over I had a shower in our suite and then had dinner with Effie. Peeta nor Haymitch were there.

"Where are Haymitch and Peeta?" I ask Effie.

"Oh! They didn't tell you? Apparently Peeta has decided to train with a different tribute."

My jaw almost drops.

"Wh-who?" I stutter.

"What was her name? Um, ahh was it love, dove, or cove?" She says.

I nearly choked on my salad.

I finally find the nerve to say it, "Clove?" I questioned.

"Oh! That's it!!" She practically screams.

"Oh, okay..." I say quietly, "I think I'm full. I'm going to go lie down." I say with no enthusiasm.

"But what about dessert?" Effie says.

I had no time to respond. I was already crying my the time I pushed in my chair.

"After all, tomorrow's the big day." I say while balling my eyes out.

"Was it something I said?" She asks herself.
