Chapter 9~ I love her

Cato's Pov

What am I supposed to tell Marvel? Or Glimmer for that matter! I'm sure Marvel will get over it but Glimmer. She'll freak!!!

Glimmer and Marvel walked over to my station I was training at.

"Hey Cato!" Glimmer smiled her flashy smile.

** okay Cato! Just tell then! They need to know about Katniss! ** said the little angel on my right shoulder.

•• Don't listen to him. Just let them find out for themselves •• exclaimed the devil.

I had seen this before. Something always bad happens when the person follows the inner devil. So of course, I went with the little angel.

"Cato!! Hello??"

I must have been zoned out while talking to the... I mean no one.

I was just imagining.

"You alright Cato?" Marvel asked.

"I'm fine. I need to talk to you Marvel. Alone."

He raised one eyebrow and nodded. He followed me to the men's bathroom.

We both sit on the counter and look at each other for a few moments. Finally I build up the courage to say something.

"I know it's a bad thing to be telling you and not Glimmer but she would flip out." I said.

He tilted his head in confusion and nodded me on to keep going.

"I was talking to Katniss, and she has agreed to join the Careers. Us."

His jaw drops and then he speaks, "Cato!! Really?"

"Please don't be mad at me!!" I yell.

"Mad? I'm, I'm relieved! This is the best possible thing that could happen!!"

"Wait what?" I ask, "You're happy?"

"Of course! This means we can kick Glimmer out!"

"She is from your own district Marvel!" I say.

"Well I know, but she is a pain in the ass and doesn't deserve a fine group of soldiers like us to be on her side!" He says with a grin, "I mean, don't you agree?"

"I... I guess so..."

"Great! I have the perfect idea! Katniss." He says with a wink.

"Katniss?"

He nods and keeps going.

"Katniss should kick her out! On the night of the interviews!"

"Are you crazy?" I say while walking out of the bathroom.

He tries to catch up but I'm already headed towards Glimmer.

Marvel stops me before I could say anything.

"Hey Glimmer!" He says.

"I have some great news! Katniss has joined us."

Her eyes widen and then steam starts blowing out of her ears.

"WHAT?"

I walk away to let Marvel handle the drama that could possibly be on live television as we speak.

I left training before I could be seen with them.

I'm relieved to have Katniss with me by my side in the games. I think, I Love her.
