Can You Count the Stars?

Cora's POV

"Sooooooo, Emma has the seed ready, have I ever mentioned that she's a self-centered bitch?" I ask casually.

"But you all love meeee!" Emma adds. "Oh, and yeah, the seed is 'kitkat'."

"Yep, like I said. Self-centered bitch."

"Quiet Cora. Shes my girlfriend, I suggest you watch what you say." Adam teases.

"Yeah? Well Cora's my girlfriend.... so watch it." The were now face to face, but you could see a slight turn-up in the corner of both Adam and Jason's mouth. They were obviously trying not to laugh.

"I will bitch slap all of you, but I'm too lazy." I say as I wave my hand aimlessly in the air.

"High five!" Emma jumps forward in attempt to high-five me, too late!

"BITCH SLAP!" Oh yes I did.

"What the fuck, Cora?" Emma grabs a pillow and walks towards me ominously.

"No, no. Bad girl! No! You will put the pillow-"

"UP YO ASS!" She screams as she hits me over, and over, AND OVER (I mean really Emma) again.

"Wow, is this what you call a 'Bitch fit'?" Jason asks sky innocently.

"No, well... yes." Stupid boys! They could be helping me! "And what do guys do in a bitch fit? We make the situation worse, grab a pillow Jason!" Sky and Jason grab pillows and run at us screaming thing like, "Jason I'm startled, for the budder," and other battle cries.

"Get off of me stupid!" I scream in the midst of it all.

"How you like that?" Jason ask me as he hits Emma in order to protect his absolutely AMAZING GIRLFRIEND, moi.

*about 20 minutes later*

"I will never, ever forgive you guys for posting that on YouTube!" I state. I was as a matter of fact, pretty pissed off. "I don't even want to hear it!" Jason had just opened his mouth ready to defend his dignity, which I had already lost.

"Hey look, already 2,000 likes." Adam says right as Emma throws Teddy (Jason's cat) at him.

"Hey, what the hell was that for?"

"For posting that and regretting noth-" Emma is cut off by Adam leaning in and basically crashing his lips onto hers. After a few seconds, Emma returned the kiss.

"I'm sorry, but I have to step out for a minute. Too many emotions are being emitted in this one room." I say trying to act disgusted.

I walk outside into the cool fall weather. Fall was my favorite season, I loved the pumpkins, the scary costumes, and even though I'm too old to trick or treat, I still love the candy.

"Hey," I jump at the sound of Jason's voice, he totally ruined the moment.

"Hi, why'd you come out?"

"Oh, well....." Jason rubs the back of his neck trying to find the right words. "You see, Emma and sky started.... talking.... while they kissed and the kiss got deeper. So I found it best if I came out here, away from the groans and face-sucking." I new Emma wouldn't let things go too far, but it was pretty scary to watch a girl a guy you've know practically all your life snogg each other.

"Yeah, well. You know kids, when you're crazy in love, you just cant help yourself." I manage to say. Jason leans down so that his lips are almost touching my ear. His warm breath is trailing down my back, and it gives me the shivers.

"Like us?" Jason brings my face up to his and I stand up a little straighter so I can kiss him. However, this time, Jason leans down towards me.

The kiss is sweet, and I melt into it. The wind blows my hair into my face, but doesn't disrupt the kiss. Jason's hands find their way down to my waist and he pulls me in closer to him. I loved him so much, but I couldn't tell him this due to my mouth being preoccupied. Eventually I break the kiss and lean into his strong figure. I liked feeling the warmth of him beside me, it was comforting.

"Hey babe," I reply to Jason with a simple moan. I didn't want to talk, all I wanted to do was enjoy here and now. "Would you like to go pick out a pumpkin tomorrow?"

"Just you and me?" I would love to, but I for once didn't want Sky or Emma to come. I wanted Jason all to myself.

"Yep, just you and me, and the pumpkins of course."

"Goofball."

"But you love me." There's a long pause as I try to think of how to reply. A simple "I love you too" is so often used. I think he's actually nervous that I won't reply. That maybe I don't love him at all, but we all know that's anything but the truth.

"See those stars up there?" Jason looks up quizzically.

"Yeah,"

"How many are there?"

"No one knows, there are too many to count."

"Exactly." I give that a moment to sink in before I continue. "I love you more than you could possibly imagine. You are the center of my universe." I felt quite satisfied with my reply. Jason had this huge grin on his face as he kisses me. This kiss was just as sweet as the first, but much more passionate. It was also much shorter, as for Emma and Adam walked outside and caught us.

As Jason and Adam walked inside to talk about God knows what, Emma asks me something I never would have expected.

"Do you think we might have a real future with these guys?"

"What do you mean, if you mean see them in our future when we're much older by "real future" then yes."

"No, I mean who do you see them as in your future. A simple friend, your husband, the father of your children, or no one more then a man you used to know?" Emma is getting serious with this. Did Adam hint at something to her? In all honesty I hadn't planned that far ahead. Jason and I have been a thing for almost a month now, but in the long run that's not long at all.

"If I had to chose, I hope to see them as..... honestly?" Emma nods ad forces me to continue. "I honestly can see Jason as my husband. And maybe, even the father of my children. You know I want children, I just have never thought about who with." If I really did think hard about it though, if Jason proposed to me, I would without hesitation say yes. And considering what happened today, imagining him as a dad isn't that hard. He'd have to settle down a little, which is hard for any man, but other then that.....

"Same with Adam." Is all Emma says in return. As Emma walks away I grab her arm firmly knowing she won't like my next question.

"How far did you and Adam go today?" Emma blushes but answers my question.

"We didn't go past kissing. I mean, yes, we said a few things, but never went through with it. We're both still not ready." I knew Emma would stay true. If any of us would be a virgin after this year, it would be Emma.

But what Emma had said seemed to strike up a memory within me. Something that seemed to be haunting all of us. Almost like an intruder in our own home. I felt as though our secretes weren't safe anymore.

I brushed off the though in attempt to convince myself that we'd all be okay. But after what had happened to Olivia, we had all began to doubt our safety. We trusted each other, but other then that, we trusted no one.

It was past midnight, and I had expected my dreams to be peaceful, they were anything but.
