DAT CUTE PUP

Jason's POV


"Adam! TURN!" Emma grabs the wheel frantically causing us to swerve into a stop sign.

"WHAT THE HELL EMMA!?" Adam is checking to make sure that we're a okay but everything happened so quickly that I not even sure what just occurred. Cora looks scared to death but to my surprise, jumped out of the car.

"Adam, check your car later, come help me find that dog!" Cora is searching for the dog, a dog is what made Adam wreck? We all hop out and begin searching.

"FOUND HIM!" Cora yells motioning for us to come to her.

"He looks okay, not hurt, just confused." Cora reaches for him. "It's okay honey, it'll be okay." He slowly walks towards her and she picks him up. "Shhh, it's okay." She pets his head calmly.

"Have you had dogs in the past." I ask her. I knew she had, I just didn't know she was this good with them.

"You know I did, but over the summer I dog-sit for some people. They had a crazy chihuahua that I had to pamper and I was always having to calm him down like this." Cora continues to stroke the pups head.

"Well, lets go on ahead and get back int the car. No real damage, nothing money can't fix." Emma laughs at this comment from Adam out Cora just stares at the puppy.

"He can't be but three months old... Too young to be out on his own." Cora looks around quickly before going back to the dog. "There are no houses but for at least four miles, and he has no tags, and he's too young to have walked this long!" She exclaims.

"Well, right now, I don't care what you do with him, bring him home even. All I want to get home." Adam jumps in the car and I drag Cora along.

"Can we keep him Jason?" Cora asks hopefully.

"I mean, sure. It's not my decision. He doesn't seem to have a home, but if someone comes looking for him we'll have to give it back. Cora simply nods in response.

"He could be like our kid!" She exclaims. I stare at the puppy before replying.

"I love animals, but he is simply a pet, NOT our child." I laugh. Cora giggles and shakes it off.

"Okay, you're right. I want my child to not be that hairy." She laughs lightly again. All I could think about how she said her child, not our child. I decided to not let it get to me. I mean, who knew where we'd be years from now. I hoped to still be with Cora. But then again, if it was up to me, Cora and I would always be together.

"Well, the dogs cute for sure, but what breed is he?" Emma asks curiously.

"He appears to be some sort of cocker-spaniel." He was white with black ears and tail, and his ears were very curly. For that matter, all of his fur was curly. "His fur looks almost as curly as your old hair." Cora punches me softly in my left arm.

"Just admit it, you've got a bad case of puppy-love." Cora looks up at me quizzically.

"With you, or the puppy?" She was being serious for once.

"Both of course." I pulled her gray beanie over her eyes causing her to giggle and giving me the perfect reason to kiss her. The kiss was soft and sweet, but like always, it was interrupted.

"RUFF! RUFF!" The dog had jumped up onto Cora's lap and was licking her face!

"No, I'm the only one that's aloud to give her kisses!" I say as I pry the dog off of Cora's face. "Here, happy birthday Emma." I throw the dog into Emma's lap and she cuddles him and calms him down.

"You guys are diffidently not cut out to be parents." Emma say still calming the pup.

"Who? Us?" I ask jokingly.

"Of course you!" Emma replies.

"Wait, and you think you and Adam are cut out to be parents?" I say Adam blush but shake his head.

"Let's just concentrate on getting home in one piece for right now." I agreed with Adam, Cora was beginning to fall asleep on my shoulder. We needed to get home so she could sleep and we could find a place for the puppy to sleep.
