I flutter my eyes open to my room, turning over in my bed. I'm off today thank God and it's good because I really didn't want to go to work anyway. My manager said she would call me last night and let me know if she needed me. I guess Cleo and the rest of the crew came in today.
I sit up and take my phone off the nightstand to see the time of 10:15am. My usual time of getting up when I'm off or its the weekend. I furrow my eyebrows to the sound out back, throwing my covers back. I place my feet to the floor and travel to the window, peeking through my curtains. I witness Avant next door in his backyard chopping wood, shirtless of course. I don't understand how this man doesn't get sick in this cold weather. He has to be inhuman.
After grabbing two big tree stumps, he turns around to head into his house. I witness him look over towards my house, than at the garage and travel inside. I turn on my heel, making my way out my room as I see a note on it. I flip the flap up, wiping the sleep out my eyes to read it.
Savage,
I went to run some last minute errands, and pick up some boxes from Home Deport. I made you breakfast, it's in the microwave.
See You Soon, Mommy.
I take the note off the door, and put it my dresser that sits by it. After brushing teeth and washing my face, I travel down the steps to the kitchen and take my food out the microwave. I remove the foil, revealing the hefty breakfast my mother cooked. It's still warm, so I can eat it as so. She must didn't leave to long ago.
I travel to the living room, picking off my plate of the desired foods. I grab the remote off the coffee table, turning the tv on to Cartoon Network. The Powerpuff Girls are on and I swear this show brings back memories. Buttercup and Bubbles were my favorite characters, Blossom just did too much for me and bossy. I hate bossy ass people.
I eat my food in peace, laughing at some of the jokes from the show. When I get done, I travel to the kitchen to wash my dishes. The door bell rings and knocks follow after. I dry my hands off, making my way to the door while turning off the tv. I look through the peephole, groaning in annoyance. I unlock the latches, peeking my head around the door to Avant. He smiles, and waves.
"Hey, is you mom home?" He questions. I shake my head no.
"Why?" I question.
"No reason. Here." He says, extending his hand to me. I see something green folded between his fingers and open the door wider. I furrow my eyebrows to the hundred dollar bills he holds, looking up at him.
"What is this?" I take the money out his hand, widening my eyes to the five hundred dollars.
"Well I was on my way out and thought I'd give you what was promised. I said I owe you." He chuckles.
