Savage__
I enter the house yawning, as I close and lock the door behind me. I have to get ready for work in a few hours, and boy am I beat. I went out with a couple of co-workers last night, and crashed at Cleo's. We had a blast last night at the club, it was definitely needed. I usually don't go to clubs, but I thought I try a different scene last night. I'm glad I did. It's a good thing I called in to work at eleven. I don't know if I could make it at seven o'clock.
I travel out the kitchen, munching on bacon as my mother travels down the steps in formal wear. Her red strands in a slick bun to back. She puts on a light gray shaw, grabbing her Louis Vuitton bag.
"Is this ok?" My mother questions. I nod, adjusting the strap to my duffle bag.
"Yea. Where are you going?" I question. She smiles wide, applying her lipstick in the mirror that sits by the door.
"I got an interview at the new nursing home that their building out West Village." I gasp and run to her as we hug and laugh. I know she said she's been putting in applications to all the nursing homes that she knew was hiring. It was no luck but I guess today that all changed.
"Aww mommy I hope you get the job." I tell her pulling back.
"Me too. I've been praying for a miracle. Lord knows I'm not trying to move with that nagging Aunt of yours. She never liked me anyway. Well, wish me good luck." She says.
"I wish you all the luck mama. You need gas money?" I question. She proudly shakes her head no.
"I still have the five hundred dollars you gave me. Have a good day at work." She smiles. I nod as she makes her way out the door, closing it behind her. I really hope she gets this job, she loves helping people thats what she does. Also I don't wanna move either. I love Harlem.
After taking my shower, I quickly dressed in my uniform and put my hair in two braids. I put my uniform hat on, including my jacket and grab my bag. On my way out, I put on the alarm and the lock door behind me. Surprisingly, another morning with no harassment from Avant. He's been gone for a week thank God, but the way he disappeared so suddenly caught both my mother and I off guard. I mean you get use to people knocking on your door, and ringing the bell constantly. Yet it's suspicious on why he left in the first place. We didn't even see him leave, our neighbors didn't either. It's strange.
"Good Morning Savage." Ms. Stocks says as she waters her flowers.
"Good morning." I say with a smile, unlocking my car door. I get in and take off my jacket while rolling down the windows. It's nice 74 degree weather outside. Now watch tomorrow it'll brick again. I crank up my car, and pull off. My phone automatically Bluetooth's to the radio. Tupac's Dear Mama begins to play as I nod my head to the beat, singing the chorus.
Lady...
Don't cha know we love ya? Sweet lady
Dear mama
Place no one above ya, sweet lady
You are appreciated
Don't cha know we love ya?After a lil ride through morning traffic, I finally get downtown to my occupation. Cleo pulling up right behind me. I hop out, locking up my car and pay the toll of the meter and out the ticket on the dash. Once done I enter the already open store, greeting my manager as I make my way to the back. Cleo enters as well.
"Girl I'm so tired." She yawns. I laugh, putting my jacket and bag in the locker.
"Same. But I wasn't calling out. Money calls." I chuckle.
