Figuring it Out_

Savage__

I remember the words, I'll never leave you,
I can still hear your tone of assurance,
Your face that read concern.
I remember the words, I'll never leave you,
The words still embedded,
You definitely said it.
I remember the words, I'll never leave you,
You embraced the words in the night sky,
It touched my heart I thought I'd might die.
I remember the words, I'll never leave you,
We shared a kiss that night,
Tears threatened my eyes but I put up the fight.
I remember the words, I'll never leave you,
As if it was the oxygen I need,
The energy from you I feed.
I remember the words, I'll never leave you,
Oh the words stay chilling,
Yet this empty space needs a filling.
I remember the words, I'll never leave you,
But you left.
You broke your promise, how can you deal with yourself?
Does hurting me amuse you?
This is emotional abuse!
I'm haunted by those four innocent words.
I'll never leave you.
It was told me in a lie but its value spoke truth.
I guess I'll never know the real man you are.
And I don't plan on it either,
So with that being said, I won't leave you neither.
But I am just like the way you left me,
Sorry not sorry but this is the way it has to be.
I hope you learned your lesson and that you can't fathom the pain in your heart,
In reality this all should of been said from the start.
But everything happens for a reason,
To reveal that shit changes like the season.
Just like the hurt you caused,
And how when you left my heart paused.
But it beats again and that's all honesty,
I can smile because I can speak that proudly.
I remember the words, I'll never leave you.
I thank you, because the empty space is now filled with someone new.
I remember the words, I'll never leave you.

I wait patiently at Five Guys for Eric to arrive. I've been sitting here for ten minutes writing as to whatever crosses my mind. Just to make time pass while I wait. I'm giving Eric the benefit of the doubt because he does have Arnez I'm sure. I just wish when he's running late, he'll call and say something. I hate waiting for people.

"Savage." The familiar voice calls. I turn my attention Eric, looking at the time on my watch. Ten minutes have passed and I didn't even realize. He sits in front of me, folding his hands in front of him.

"You're late and we only have five minutes. The other five is for me to get back to my job." I tell him. He sighs and sits back.

"Something had came up Savage."

"And again. You didn't call. You wanna talk but don't even do what you need to do to have a decent conversation. Was what we had important to you?" I question.

"Of course what we had was important to me Savage. If it wasn't, I wouldn't be trying to explain why I left in the first place." He argues.

"If what we had was important Eric, you would of called and said something about you showing up late. We could of rescheduled and I could of stayed at work." I mumble, snatching my belongings off the table.

"Savage. I'm sorry." He's not sorry. I ignore him, shaking my head. I really thought Eric was different from other guys, but I was wrong. He said he loved me and cared for me, but he was never there. He didn't tell me he had a son until after a year of dating, and when I questioned of his strange behavior. It was like he was hiding something from me. Like he couldn't talk to me, when I was always there for him.

I enter the sneaker store seeing it's completely empty. We only have a lot of customers during the holidays, or a sneaker sale. Other than that, business is slow. I don't know why we're still open.
