Undeniable Truths

31~ Harry's Input

I don't believe him. He wouldn't have come over to my house so late, saying he needs to tell me something and then 'forget'. No, he chickened out. I know he did. But could he possibly need to tell me so late when he just left my flat?

He's hiding something from me. And he thinks that I'm going to believe that he couldn't remember what it was? If only. No, he's not going to get off that easy.

But what could he be hiding? Did he cheat? No, that's impossible. Did he get fired? No, he's too far up in the chain-of-command to get fired. This is going to make me go insane. I need to just call him, but what if I'm wrong and he really did forget?

"Hey, Harry, can I ask you something. Not work related, just friend to friend?" I ask as I sit down in his office.

He looks up, "Yeah, anything you need, Hermione." He gets up to close the blinds in his office so no one can look in on us.

"I know this may sound weird, but does Percy look like anybody to you? Like, do you recognize him from somewhere?"

He studies me for a moment, "Why..."

I sigh, "Just please answer the question."

"To be honest, I thought I knew him when I saw him. He does look familiar, but I can't seem to place him, no matter how hard I wrack my brain." He messes up his hair a little out of habit, "Now back to my question, why are you asking?"

I study my shoes for a second before I look up at the raven haired boy, "While he was gone, I had a dream about him. I was at Hogwarts and there were these voices..."

He gives me a crooked smile, "Y'know, 'Mione, even in the wizarding world, it's not good to hear voices."

I chuckle, "I know. Anyways, pretty much my dream got me thinking that maybe we went to school with Percy, but we just don't remember because he was in another year."

"How could that be? He's the same age as we are. He'd have to be in the same year. Did your dream have anybody else in it?"

"Yeah..." I whisper, "Draco."

"As in Malfoy?" he asks, then an emotion flashes across his face. A mix between hurt, confusion, and recognition.

"Yeah. What's that look for?" I question.

"Mr. Weinberg happens to look an awful lot like Malfoy. Don't you think?" His emerald eyes sparkle as he says this in a way that only happens when he thinks about all those we lost in the war.

"That's what I thought, but maybe they're just doppelgängers?" I ask hopefully.

"Possibly. Or..."

I glare, "Or what?"

"I don't want to say, because it sounds completely mental," he messes up his hair even more.

"Just tell me."

"Unless, Weinberg is Malfoy in disguise."

I roll my eyes, "You're right, that is completely mental, considering that Blaise found Malfoy's body. You went to the crime scene. You did the fingerprinting. There's no way."

He raises an eyebrow, "No way? One example, Peter Pettigrew."

"No. No. No. No. No," I state while I shake my head. "That's different. All they found was Pettigrew's finger. You guys found Malfoy's whole body!"

Harry sighs, "You're right. This is different. But I'd keep a close eye on him if I were you. I mean the timing of everything is quite odd."

"Timing of what?"

"Weinberg suddenly showing up. The mysterious letters from Malfoy. Then this dream? These are too close to be coincidence," he shrugs. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid."

"No, you're completely right. I have to talk to him," and with that I turn around to storm out. Right before I leave I turn my head, "Thank you, Harry. For everything."

"No problem, that's what 'brothers' are for," he uses air quotes around 'brothers', "I'm just glad I could help."

Oh my god, guys, I'm so sorry this is so late. I've had a bunch of family come in this weekend. So, I haven't had the time to update.

Good news is, I have been designing a new cover for this story. I'm going to post them here, so comment on the one that you like best, or if you prefer the current one comment on this paragraph.
