Chapter 17

"Where are you going this early in the morning?" I asked Cara.

"I have a date with Kendall," Cara said with a smirk.

"Okay, have a good time with her," I said sleepily.

"Okay, you have a good time with yourself," she said as she left the dorm.

"I will," I said mostly to myself as I sunk further into my bed.

I actually didn't have time to waste as I had to start working on my projects which I had to submit soon. Even though I seemed like a lazy ass who only drinks, procrastinates and sleeps I actually do study and finish my projects on time.

I suddenly heard my phone beep. I checked it to see a new text message from Taylor. It read:

'Good morning sunshine, did you sleep well?'

Oh jeez! Not this early in the morning Taylor!

'Yup, good morning, what about you princess?'

Smooth.

'Me too, so what are you doing today?'

'I have to start my projects :('

'Well, I could help you do them, I mean only if you want that.'

'I think I can do them by myself but I'll call you if I have any doubts.'

'Okay, then, call me whenever you need my help, bye xoxo.'

Hugs and kisses? Fine.

'Okay, bye, xoxo.'

I hope I don't call her every hour...

I fell back into my sleep subsequently. After a few hours I woke up. I groggily sat up and pulled my hair into a hair tie and then I changed my clothes to go out. Of course we had a cafeteria within the campus but I didn't quite like the food available there so I always went out. I grabbed my bag and left my dorm. I skipped down the steps and left the gates of the campus to enter the streets. I walked slowly to a café which was just a five minutes' walk from our university. As soon as I sat down on one of the tables Joan came up to me.

"Is it the usual, miss?" the waitress asked politely with a wide smile on her face.

"Yup, and please just call me Karlie, I've been coming here for more than a year and I know you quite well," I replied with a grin.

"Okay, then Karlie, I'll get you your usual," she said as she turned and walked away swiftly.

I removed my sunglasses and placed them on the table and leaned forward to rest my elbows on the table as well. A few minutes later Joan comes to my table with a cup of espresso along with a bagel. She placed the coffee and the plate containing the bagel down onto the table.

"Thank you," I said as I smiled looking at her and she mirrored my gesture and left. Just as I placed my lips on the rim of the cup I saw a tall familiar blonde enter the café.

Taylor???

I almost spit my coffee when I saw the blonde wave joyfully at me. I partially choked on my espresso as I faintly said ,"Hey," I wave slowly. A cute sundress-wearing Taylor walks over to my table.

"Can I join in?" she asked me with her angelic smile.

"Y-yeah sure," I croaked out as I put my coffee down so that I don't spill it. Joan came up to our table.

"What would you like miss?" Joan asked while facing Taylor who sat opposite to me.

"What do you think I should get Karls?" the blue-eyed girl asked me.
