It was a great time to be alive and Kris couldn't have been more alive than when he was lying in the back of the ambulance contemplating his life during the darkest period of his young life. The ride back to the city was quiet, but the intensity of the previous situation was very much on the minds of the two individuals as they were driving down the expressway. Kris, under the circumstances determined that it would be best to let Tao drive them back. He was still feeling a little overwhelmed with how their afternoon turned out. It had truly been an eventful few months and had anyone told either man such events would've taken place, both men would've screamed, "liar" at whoever chose to voice such statements. For the first time, in a very long time though, despite what just transpired, Kris felt whole. Tao was the missing piece to his broken puzzle and Kris couldn't have been happier than he was at that moment. He stared at the beautiful man driving his convertible, his steely gaze glued to the road ahead, intent on getting them back to their destination in one piece.

"I can feel you staring at me," Tao blurted, turning his head rather quickly, admiring the adoring face of his boyfriend.

"I'm sorry, but you're just too beautiful and I can't help myself," Kris replied, loving the quick blush that crept up Tao's cheeks. "Cut it out!!", Tao all but screamed, he didn't like all this blushing, the many muscles in his face contorting into these absurd shapes, it was so childish, but thanks to the constant flattery that came his way from Kris, it was becoming never ending. This was all new for him. "I thank you, thank you for what you've done for me today. I am so happy, happy that you're in my life now, Tao. I really am." Kris turned back in his seat, back flush against the fine grade leather, seat back to accommodate his rather long and large frame. Tao was about to make the final exit towards Kris's penthouse and he was glad that this whole thing was over. He really was. He hadn't known what to expect when they arrived at the hospital, both fear and excitement threatening to spill over. He had been angry, of course, initially believing that he'd do something to the girl who had singlehandedly almost ended Kris's life. He honestly didn't know how to feel about that, and Kris was of the same mindset. Tao could never know, for certain, how Kris was feeling considering this was his best friend, someone he had built a long standing relationship with. She was like the sister he never had. There were a multitude of emotions floating around, between Kris and Tao, between all of them. Tao was glad that they were able to address what had been plaguing Kris all this time. The man was finally free from his self-imposed exile. He had waited, and probably would've never expressed how he felt if Tao hadn't encouraged him and let him know that he was there for him. Tao was happy for that. He had a reason now.

A reason to be happy and to be in love, because there was no doubt, that's what he was in.

In love.

And what a wonderful feeling it was.

Once they arrived back in the city, Tao parked the car in Kris's underground garage, both men holding hands, heading up to Kris's penthouse. No words were exchanged, just fingers entwined, standing shoulder to shoulder as they made their way up in the elevator. They were still touching even as Kris's unoccupied hand punched in his code to gain entry to his formerly empty abode. As the door clicked closed behind them, Kris surprised Tao by pushing him against the wall, and planting a kiss on him that made his knees weak. Kris held him up as he continued to suck the life out of Tao, usurping all his air, begging Tao's mouth to open as his tongue found purchase within. Tao couldn't catch himself as Kris pulled him, rather threw him over his shoulder, heading towards his master bedroom. Tao found himself flying through the air as Kris threw him on the bed, moving quickly to get between his thighs. For someone who was just a virgin a few days prior, it appeared as if instinct took over and Tao found himself smiling from ear to ear. He didn't get a chance to voice what was swimming through his mind as Kris seemed to know already. "I love you. I love, love you. I can't thank you enough for believing in me. Let me show you what you mean to me, Tao," Kris's voice hitched, as the overwhelming emotions threatened to tear him down. He'd never known such joy and it was enthralling to be with someone like Tao. He never believed in "love at first sight," but Tao was the closest thing to being it. Kris firmly believed that Tao was the ONE. Kris could certainly see himself with Tao.
