Clary's P.O.V
"So they can't see me, but I can see them, right?" I said to Officer Leeger, for like the millionth time. He sighed and nodded. He then reached for the door knob and twisted it and then he entered the room.
"Oh my god!! Clary is it to hard to—you know what just get in the room." Izzy said as she pushed me where Officer Leeger went in.
"Ow ow oow!! Okay okay!" I said to her as I try to reach her hands so she could release me of iron grip on me.
The suspect room, or as Izzy like to say that the room was called that, was exactly how I imaged it will be like.
The walls were painted a shade of gray, or at least that what they seem to look like. It was a small room, no larger than a regular sized bedroom. In the middle of the room there was a metal table that was surrounded by two black chairs and on the metal table, there sat something that looked like a microphone.
It smelled like dust and dirt. The only sign of light was the light bulb that was hanging loosely above my head. There were no windows shooting rays of sunlight into the room.
There was only a huge mirror like window in front of me.
"Are you ready Ms. Mor— I mean Ms. Fairchild." Officer Leeger corrected himself, since I strictly told him to call me by my mother's last name, before she was married to that bastard of my father.
I sigh and mumbled a, just get it over it.
He nodded and bent, halfway, in front of the metal table and said, "Send them in." Through the microphone.
One by one came through the door that was on the opposite side of the window.
They all had black hair, some you can say that it was their natural color, others you can tell that they dyed it.
I counted how many suspect they brought in. One, two, three, four, five, six—eleven suspects in total! Woah that is a lot. I was expecting. like five or six, but turns out there is way more than five.
I get closer to suspect number one. He was tall. He had black hair, but even from this distance, I see that his hair roots are black, which means, he either dyed it very well or his black hair is his natural hair. Then I lower my gaze. He has hazel brown eyes and his skin is tan, I immediately eliminate him.
Seb had pale skin.
I go to suspect two and already eliminate him, since his hair is brown and his eyes are baby blue like the sky.
Seb had dark eyes, like his eyes swallowed his pupil.
I move sideways and lean closer to see suspect number three. His hair roots are white and the rest of his hair is black, it kinda looked like an ombre of white and black. I lower my gaze to his body and them eliminated him.
Seb had was skinny, whereas suspect number three hand a roundish body.
I moved to see suspect number four, then five, six, seven, and so on.
Some had the wrong shade of black hair. Some too light, some too dark. Others had blue, green, and brown eyes and/or they were too skinny or to roundish. Too tall, too short,—ugh this is useless.
"Ugh this is useless, a waste of time! None of them are him!" I say while shooting both of my arms up while turning around to face Izzy and Officer Leeger.
"Oh c'mon you have three suspects left. Go on." Izzy said and shooting a hand up very lazily, meaning she is getting tired of this.
I did what Izzy told me and go to suspect nine. He was short—too short to be Seb. He was almost the same size as me, where as Seb was about eight inches taller than me.
Nope.
Then I went to suspect number ten. He was taller than me and possibly the same height as Seb. He had black hair. He also had dark eyes.
I turned around to face Officer Leeger.
"Can I see suspect number ten more closely." I said to officer Leeger while pointing at the guy who had a number ten sticked to his shirt.
He nodded and bent himself and said something through the microphone, that I couldn't quite hear because I was to distracted on seeing this guy's dark eyes.
He suddenly took two steps forward.
I lean more closely to the window-mirror, so close that I can see my breath clutter up and cloud the window-mirror.
False alarm.
He had dark blue eyes, and as an artist I can easily tell the difference of black and dark blue eyes.
I sighed and shook my head.
Suspect number ten then moved two steps back, to his original spot.
I then go to suspect number eleven. The last one, but then disappointment washes over me.
He had dark brown hair and green-blue eyes.
"Nope none of them." —are him, I wanted to say but then stopped myself because whats the point.
"I'm Really sorry Ms. Fairchild, I thought at least one of them were him." Officer Leeger said. He then went toward the door and opened it. He just stood there waiting for us to go before him.
I shook my head and went out the door and with Izzy just at my heels.
"You sure none of them were him Clary?" Izzy asked me with sad eyes.
I shook my head and then raked my pale hand through my red and frizzy hair.
"Lets just go home and hit the hay Izzy. I had a long day." I say while opening the passengers door of Izzy's car and then entering.
Izzy got in her red car and turned on the engine and headed home.
I stare out the window and think about all the questions that are slowly eating up my mind like, who is Seb? Does he even exist? And most importantly, where is he?
