Veronica was now depressed. Her summer was now going to be a disaster. Well, not the Olympics trials, but everything else. Mallory had mad to drag her to a bowling alley. Mallory had mentioned something about a Sunday Special, but Veronica wasn't listening. She wanted to swim. It was a daily thing for her. Not being in the ocean drained her of energy.
Mallory pushed Veronica. "Come on have some fun. You don't want to be in a sad mood when it you're doing the trials tomorrow."
Veronica figured she mine as well try. Staying in a bad mood would do her no good. They walked down to lane 7. Mallory started off the bowling with a strike. Veronica couldn't keep up with the points. Mallory competed in bowling competitions all the time. Veronica had seen Mallory place in 5th out of 60 before. By the end of the game, Veronica was almost a full 100 points behind Mallory.
Then lane 7 lit up. The intercom came on. "The people in lane 7 have won the Sunday Special. Come to the front desk to claim the prize."
Veronica still had no idea how they won the Sunday Special. When they reached the desk they were each handed a ticket to a water park. This would be fun. Maybe her summer wouldn't be as bad as she thought.
