I rubbed my eyes in confusion realising that i wasn't sleeping in my own bed. Though, once i peered around my surroundings, it dawned that i was staying over at Madison's. My tired eyes finally landed on the round clock on the wall. 10 am. Hmm, i'll grab some more sleep.

Slightly shivering from a light breeze flowing through the open window, I stretched and then pulled the duvet up, until it came in level with my chin. I sighed with relief, acknowledging that I’d become somewhat warmer. My eyes fluttered, until they rested over my eyeballs, pulling me into a nice, sleep. But not for long- of course.

The creak of a door opening soon filled my ears. I groaned, turning over. I am many things but definitely not a morning person.

“Wake up….” I heard a muffled voice, which I guess belonged to Madison. She began to shake me.

“gwo abawwyy..” I buried myself further into the warm blanket. Of course, i was trying to say 'go away,' but this girl towering above me like a giant would obviously pretend to fall victim to my muffled speech and demand for a transalation.

“whaaat?” Madison stiffled a yawn.

I hated talking just after waking up, and she knew it. I shooed her away, with my hand, but soon felt cold so put it back under the blanket.

“First tell me what you said.” She poked me, not giving up, and now fully awake. Does this girl have a mute button?

“Dude! I said go away….” I spoke in a low voice, now a little clearer. I lifted my head from my pillow to glare at her and then planted my head right into the soft pillow. "Dumbass..." I let the profanity slip, to show her that i was in no way impressed at the moment.

“First of all, I’m not a dude. Secondly, I’m not going away till I get you out of that stinkin’ bed. Now get up, you lazy cow!” she shot at me, trying to pull the covers off.

I tugged at the material trying to keep it over me, but It seemed that i was too weak and sleepy. She gave one last pull to the blanket before she fell backwards onto the floor with the force of it and the blanket flew up in the air, and landed right on top of her.

She stuck her head out, “On the bright side, atleast your awake now.” She spoke meekly, adding a silly smirk.

“No! Maddy, I’m cold,” I moaned. She just stared at me, giving me the, i-don’t-really-care type of look. I shot up from the bed, sending her a hard stare and grabbed some clothes.

“Fine, lemme get changed.” I scowled at her.

"Of course,” she cheered, mockingly.

I shook my head smiling at my insane best friend. She pushed herself off the floor, lifting the covers with her and dropped it onto my bed. She turned around, and just as she was about to turn the door knob, I stopped her.

“Wait, Madison!” I called. She turned around, shooting me a questioning look.

“I kinda got into a fight with my parents, so is it okay if I stay over here for a few days or something?” I asked, with a hopeful look.

“Dani, of course you can stay, this is like your second home. You don’t have to ask me, my parents wouldn’t mind,” She comfortingly patted my shoulder.

“Thanks.” I beamed at her.

“It’s nothing. So why did you fight with your parents?”

“To be honest, I don’t even know. It was over something silly.. like always. They’re just so over protective of me, I hate it. I can protect myself. I don’t need them to be everywhere with me, like a shadow.” I ranted, getting more frustrated by the minute.
