I awoke to someone opening the curtains, letting the sunshine pass through, and hit against my eyelids. I groaned, squinting my eyes at the bright light.

“Who is it?” I mumbled, inaudibly, still half asleep.

“Madison,”

I groaned once more. “I’m coming. Go away,” I moaned, shoeing her away with my hand. I heard her footsteps, then the sound of a door shut.

‘She’s gone’. I thought. I smiled tiredly and tried to fall back asleep. That was until a thought popped into my head causing me to remember that I was going to see my parents today. My eyes instantly flew open and widened with joy. I jumped out of the bed, feeling awake as ever. I splashed my face with water, once I entered the bathroom. I brushed my teeth thoroughly. I looked up in the mirror, and smiled at my reflection. My face had a glow to it, which would happen very rarely. Only on really happy occasions. I was practically jumping all over the place.

I gave a toothy grin at the other me in the mirror, and sprinted out of the bathroom. I quickly rid my body of the pyjamas. I stood in the middle of the room, trying to make my mind up on what to wear. I finally decided on white short shorts and a purple tank top to go with them. I slipped on my purple converse'. Yeah, I love the colour purple. And before you judge, no I don’t love it because Justin likes it. I’m not like that. I loved purple ever since I was a kid.

I slid my silver charm bracelet onto my wrist. It was a present from dad. When I was young I got involved in a car accident. I was in a really bad condition. The doctors had given up. I flat- lined twice. I was declared dead like 4 times. It was that serious. But one day, my heart beat picked up, and I was alive. Everyone said it was a miracle. Since that day my dad’s nick-name for me is angel. When I got home, he threw a welcome party in my honour, and gifted me the bracelet then. He loves me so much, it’s unreal. I love him equally too. If not, more than he loves me. But I know that’s impossible. He can do anything for me. His ‘angel’. I smiled at that memory.

I rubbed some foundation on my face, and went over my eyelashes with the mascara. I smiled, satisfied with my appearance, and rushed down the stairs. My shoes skidded across the marble floor, as I hurried into the kitchen. I quickly held on to Madison, who just so happened to be the nearest thing to me, so I could keep my balance and not fall. I let go of her and sat in a chair ready to eat some yummy breakfast.

“Jumpy much?” she raised an eyebrow.

“Of course I am. I need to see my daddy and make it up to him,” I beamed at her, mentally making a note to never be so cheesy in my life ever again.

“What about your mum? Aren’t you happy that you’re going to see her?” another voice filled the air. Furrowing my eyebrows, I looked up, and sitting straight ahead of me was Josh.

“Good morning Joshyy!” I reached my hand across the table and ruffled his hair. “Duh, I’m happy to see her too. But I’m more of a daddy’s girl. Personally, I like him more than mum. She can.. well sometimes get naggy. And you know how I am with my temper and all,” I smiled at him. He nodded, understandingly.

“But don’t tell her, it’s our little secret, shhh,” I winked while spreading nutella on my toast. Madison simply shook her head, slightly smiling. Josh, however winked back at me. I burst out laughing, at his lame attempt to wink.

“Josh, you need to work on your wink, mate. You just look like a pervy kid when you do it like that,” I managed to say between my laughter.

When Madison caught on to what I was laughing at, she joined in. Josh just sat there, his cheeks turning a light pink colour. I bit my lip to stop my uncontrollable laughter.
