I woke up thinking everything was just a really bad nightmare and that I would be back at home in my comfy bed and my parents nagging me to get up for school. However, when I peeled my eyes open an inch further, I realised I was still in a dark, cold and dirty room. I didn’t have my phone or anything with me so I couldn’t know what time it is and I cant see outside since the window has been covered, so I don’t know if it’s day or night.

I sighed, running my fingers through my messy hair. I decided to just get up and run away. it didn’t matter if I didn’t know the time, or if it was the morning, I’d just have to use my spy skills, and sneak out mega fast.

I lifted the thin blanket off me, feeling cold. The blanket didn’t do a very good job at keeping me warm through the night. A shiver ran throughout my body as I sprung up from the floor. I peered down at what I was wearing. They were the same clothes I wore three days ago. I looked so scruffy. They didn’t even let me have a shower, and change my clothes. Oh well. I’m going to escape anyway, so its cool.

It took me at least 4 minutes to open the room door without it making a creaky sound. When it had opened to the right angle, wide enough for me to fit through, I stepped out. Tip-toeing across the hallway steadily, walked down the steps, missing one or 2 stairs to reach the bottom quicker. I could feel my heart rapidly beating, in fear of getting caught.

As I approached the front door, I kept on taking quick glances at everything around me, just in case anyone was looking. Luckily, I saw no one- they were probably all sleeping. I took another 4-5 minutes to fully open the front door, not daring to make a sound and get caught. I blew in a deep breath. At this point I was so paranoid that I was scared that my heartbeat could be heard by anyone else in the house.

As I opened the door, I saw the sunlight seeping in through it, and reaching my eyes. I squinted in the sunlight, my eyes not ready for such a bright light. Once my eyes had adjusted to the outside world, I tiptoed out. I quietly closed the door behind me.

I stared at everything around me. I was in the middle of nowhere. It would take centuries for me to find my way home. It doesn’t matter. At least I’ve escaped now. I’ll just ask someone for help.

I walked and walked till I saw a black range rover. Hmm… looks like whoever is in there can help me. I waved my hand for them to notice me and stop. Thankfully, they stopped. “Hey, can I take a ride?” I asked, sweetly.

“Sure,” the boy replied. He was wearing a hat, and big sunglasses that covered most of his face so I couldn’t recognise him. I glanced at the back to see another boy who looked similar, with the big glasses and hat. I passed the duo a weird look and sat in the passenger seat.

I know, I know. They’re strangers and I don’t know them and they can kidnap me. big whoop. I’ve already been kidnapped, so I don’t really care any more.

“So, where are you headed?” the boy in the drivers seat inquired. His voice sounded familiar. I didn’t notice I was day dreaming until the boy at the back tapped my shoulder.

“Oh, err sorry. I really don’t know where I’m going,” I spoke shyly in embarrassment.

“What do you mean?” the boy at the back asked, probably thinking I’m mad.

“Well, long story short, my best friend betrayed me by helping this twisted guy to kidnap me. I’ve been living there for 3 days, but I escaped today. And I just needed some help to find my way home,” I explained, sighing. “Since I don’t know where my house is, can you drive me to where ever you guys are going, and I’ll contact my parents from there?” I wondered, coyly.

“Sure!” the boy in the drivers seat replied.

“Uhm, why are you both covering your faces?” I gave them both a weird look.
