(Y/n)=yuor name
(Y/s)=your surnameI shiged thinking about the next mission I was going to face up. It has passed some years since I was officialy a member of the Moon Demon Company and, with time, I learned to get used to his pressing rhytm: the trainings, the meetings, the missions... Mine was a rather animated life, all things considered I gladly made it. It would be nice to free the world from the domination of vampire. The only problem was the team I was given, or rather, the leader of that team, Guren Ichinose.
"Sergent (Y/s), this is going to be an interesting mission!" Guren smiled at me. How I had desired that he didn't behave like that. He would have made all simpler. "You're right, Guren, I swear we will have fun!" And I smiled at him. Also he smiled. "You won't be late tomorrow, will you?" And he went away, leaving me to my thoughts.
The following day we met out from the walls of the city fighting vampires, but this battle was more exhausting. I couldn't deny it, I was in trouble. Moreover I had already used a tablet and his effect was going to end, afterwards I didn't know how much I could have hold it. Surely not much. I managed to kill the vampire in front of me. I managed to have a breath, but another one attacked me. He unseated me, then he hit me and I fell on the ground. Someone came between me and the vampire taking the stroke destined to me. I horrified. "No! Guren..." I looked at him while, despite his wound, he finished off the vampire. I threw myself on him. "Guren! Why have you done this? You shouldn't have!" "And let the person I love die?" My eyes opened wide. No, it wasn't true. It couldn't be true. I looked him a bit shaken. "(Y/n) I..." Thankfully the others reached us and our conversation ended. I couldn't have borne that declaration.
In the next days I tried in all the ways to avoid him and not to remain alone with him, but I knew that, sooner or later, the unavoidable would happen.
"Ehy, (Y/n), wait!" "Sorry, Guren. I'm in a hurry..." "I beg you." And he took my arm, stopping me. "Why are you avoiding me?" "I'm not..." I couldn't negate the fact, but I felt ready. Whatever he was going to tell me... I knew what I should do. He brought me near him. "What I've told you that day is true. I love you (Y/n)." Tears that I couldn't restrain fell on my cheeks. Guren took my face in his hands. "It's all right." "No, Guren. Nothing is all right." And I pushed my hands against his chest to make him move away. He watched me surprised. "Stop saying things that aren't true, please stop!" "(Y/n) I'm not lying, I really love you." "No, Guren. I'm not her. I will never be like her!" He took my shoulders looking me straight in the eyes. "She's dead, she's no more part of my life. I want you." "Don't lie to yourself. She's always there, in your sword, she's always there remembering you how much important she is for you." I placed my hand on his cheek. "You will never love someone as you loved her, util she's with you nothing is going to change. If I start a relationship with you, it will mean only pain for me. Because I know that actually you want her." I saw grief in his eyes. Maybe he was really sincere, but I couldn't have lived like that. With the presence of Mahiru always close. For that reason I had decided to repress my feelings. "Can we at least stay friends? I don't want to loose you." He wisphered. My heart ached. "No, I'm going to ask a reassignment. Goodbye, Guren." I looked at him for the last time and I went away, heartbroken.
