after mopping, tyler left. brendon had let him go home earlier than usual since today had been rough. tyler had thanked him a lot before he had grabbed his bag, a messenger style one that was big enough for a couple books. he loved the bag because in addition to it being a carry on, it could also sit on the back of his bike when he wrapped his bike lock around it. tyler had named the bag benjamin because frankly, it had seemed like a benjamin. he had also named his bike will, because why not. tyler named a lot of things. he knew it was odd but the things you use so much you have to be nice to, and surely giving something a name was a sign of respect, right? tyler was thinking about this as he biked home, climbing the hills before finally getting to the part of the route where it was flat. he steered his bike to the back of his red apartment building, to the actual entrance, and after getting buzzed in, he took the elevator up, his bike still beside him.
he fumbled with his keys, and twisted them into a lock. once he was inside, he sighed deeply. he was home. he really loved his apartment, though it was rather shabby and dreary. but it had a soft bed and it smelled nice, and his fridge had nice food and he had a good kettle and lots of tea. the wallpaper is pretty bad, though, tyler noted. he frowned a little. i wonder if i could paint it? he started sorting through his favorite colors in his head, mentally redecorating already. he had just moved in last week after staying with brendon and ryan for a little over a year. he was glad he had been ready and able to have his own place. though he loved both of them -- he did, don't get me wrong - ryan took an awfully long time taking showers and brendon took even longer doing his hair. once tyler had run into the bathroom and used it while brendon was in there because he was taking so long. his cheeks flushed and he shook his head to clear the memory. golly goodness.
the kettle had boiled while tyler was visiting his head, and he poured up his tea. jasmine green tea sounded lovely right about now, so he made a whole pot for himself.
he left the tea and started to play on his ukulele. he had just bought it the other day, when he was coming home from work, actually. she was a very pretty ukulele, so tyler had named her ruby. he had gotten new strings and some polish and now she was even prettier.
