"i'm really sorry i punched you in the face."
tyler had come to, and after drinking some of his tea, and getting an ice pack and pressing it on his head, the color had come back into his face. josh dun didn't know why this boy had passed out, but he guessed it was because he had directed the blow intended for the door to.. tyler's face. yikes.
"i'm really sorry," josh said again. he felt really bad and he had a habit of apologizing a lot, not unlike tyler.
tyler said "it's okay." he would have said more but he was just very surprised. he had noticed josh first about a year ago and had been thinking about him a lot ever since. so he was just a little nervous. he also wasn't wearing proper pants, just some black leggings under a big pink sweater. he was going to bed so he didn't have to wear gender roles.
"i, um."
tyler glanced at josh, then back to his hands. he was awfully nervous.
"i was wondering if you had some cold medicine?"
tyler blinked at him.
"see, my daughter, she has a fever and i ran out of niquil and i meant to get some the other day but i forgot, i didn't put it on the list and-"
tyler stood up abrubtly, tossed the ice pack onto the table, and went into his kitchen. josh sat, dazed, on the floor, as he went. when tyler returned he had a little basket in his arms. he sat down, crossed his legs all criss cross apple sauce, and sorted through it. he took out a little bottle of niquil, asprin, daquil, sleep aids, and a small bottle of lavender oil. he didn't know why it was there - he had bought these things together when he had gotten his apartment, and felt it was important they stay together.
tyler looked at the bottles between him and josh. "you can take whatever you need," he said softly.
"oh, gee, thanks. by the way, i'm josh."
tyler darted his eyes up towards josh's shyly. "hey josh. i'm tyler."
josh smiled big. his eyes went all crinkly. he didn't know why, but tyler was just so.. sweet. and small. "i like your sweater."
tyler smiled, his eyes squinting up to make room for his grin. he looked down more. "t.thanks."
"hey, i really should make sure charlie's okay, so i'll see you later? thank you very much, i'm really sorry i bothered you-"
"you didn't bother me," tyler interrupted. he looked up at josh in a rare moment of confidence. "besides, um," heck talking is heckin hard "i think we know each other?"
josh blinked. "you're the boy who wears black and works at cvs? my daughter loves your apron, she, um. she loves red." he pointed to his head. he laughed shyly.
"y.your daughter and i have that in common." tyler's cheeks went crimson at his bold statement.
josh giggled and stood up, taking the bottle of niquil. he held out a hand to tyler, offering to help him up. tyler blinked at it before taking it, softly. josh noticed how soft and cool tyler's hand was.
"um, nice seeing you," tyler said softly. he brought his hand to his side.
josh smiled. "you too, thanks again. i guess i should go, it's really late, and, um-"
"i hope charlie feels better."
"me too.. bye, tyler."
"bye, josh." tyler looked at josh's face briefly, trying to memorize it quickly.
josh smiled before waving a little before walking out in his baby blue bunny slippers. tyler shut the door behind him and leaned against it, smiling.
