The wind blew pieces of my hair out of my bun, causing them to fall in my face. Harry, who was sitting next to me, started to laugh. After finishing our coffees, he suggested that we take a walk around the park. Now here we are, sitting on an old wooden bench watching the orange and yellow leaves leave the braches of their trees.
“So Jess, I’ve only learned your name and that you enjoy black coffee in the past hour. Tell me more about you.” Harry turned his head to face me with a childish smile on his face.
“How about I get back to you on that, and you should share some facts about yourself.” My voice showed my nervousness. There was no way that I was going to tell Harry about my life. Not yet that is, even though he probably won’t stay around long enough to hear my story.
“Ok, well I have an older sister named Gemma. She’s literally one of my best friends. My mum is my favorite person in the whole wide world.” He paused and smiled before continuing. “Uh, what else? Well I moved out of my mother’s house when I was sixteen and now live in a small flat with my cat. His name is Pus, which is short for Pussy. My best mate Louis named him. I still have no clue what possessed him to name my cat that.” A small laugh actually left my mouth. I quickly tried to cover it up but I’m pretty sure that Harry noticed because he smiled at me once again.
“What kind of music do you listen to?” I blurted out.
“Well I like everything actually. I’m a big fan of The 1975 and the Artic Monkeys. How about you, I mean are you ok with sharing that?”
“Um well, I like The 1975 and I like the Neighborhood, anything actually.” He smiled and those two dimples appeared once again.
“Good thing we have the same taste in music. So are you ready to share something about yourself Jess?” Harry asked me while our eyes met.
Was I really about to spill about my life to some guy that I just met?
