It's cold and windy at the horse track. I zip my navy blue windbreaker and thrust my hands into its pockets in hopes that I might not freeze to death.

My Grandmother, Reyes Konn aka Supreme Leader, thought it would be a good idea to take me and the gang to go see a couple of horse races but I really wish she would've chosen another day and as I sit next to her, watching her from her golden throne that she carries everywhere, I can see that she too wishes she chose another date.

"Grandmother," I say. After a few seconds her head swings away from the race although her eyes, which are still fixed on the race, reluctantly, look at me too.

"Yes my love?" She says with a warm smile.

"Can't they turn up the heaters in the room." I ask politely.

"Why? Are you feeling cold?" She asks.

We all respond as we nod yes making her smile. For 70 years of age she doesn't look that old at all - if all things you would think she's in her late 40's/50. You can see she takes good care of herself.

"Of course." She then taps a button on her throne and after a few seconds two ladies enter the V.I.P room as the door slides open. The ladies are wearing black satin dresses with white bands on there heads with their hair tied into a pony tail, "Increase the temperature." Grandmother orders as her eyes are still fixed on the race and the ladies immediately walk over to the heaters and swipe there hands up making the heater temperature increase.

"Anything else Supreme Leader?" The ladies say in synch making me raise a eyebrow.

Grandmother waves her hand signaling them to leave and with swiftness they exit the room. I find the whole interaction between them and Grandmother quite rude.

But I can't say anything...Or can I?

"Grandmother,"

"Yes my love?"

"Why...why are we..." I begin.

"Why are we what, lovey?" She asks politely.

I play with my thumbs thinking of the best way to say what I'm trying to say. The gang looks at me waiting for me to elaborate. After careful thinking I begin,

"Why do we treat those who are supposedly lower than us with lower respect. Shouldn't we treat them the same? Grandpa says you have to give respect to earn respect..."

"Lel...I worked very hard to get to where I am and those people didn't work hard enough, now if we where all treated with the same respect a poor disadvantage person could have this wonderful idea; 'If I'm the same as that rich successful person then I too should be living in such a big house and have all these glorious things but unfortunately that persons dreams would be crushed by the status quo and that person would think, 'if me and that successful person are the same then why am I like this and he is like that! That should not be' and then riots and theft would increase substantially and who would they blame children?..."
