Supreme Council Rangers

Lel Konn
___________I carefully close the humungous brass door of Konn Manor, making sure to not wake or alert anyone of my actions and by anyone I mean Amanda.
It's cold and dark outside but I know I have to get a move on before the dome panels start spinning and the artificial sun begins shining, if that happens before we meet Gurdak it'll be over for us.
I put a note for Amanda inside explaining why I'm leaving, the note said things like; I appreciate everything you've done for me, I'm not running away because I hate you, I'll be back in my own time and that she shouldn't worry about me. I didn't write a note for my mom though because screw her.
I casually sling my backpack on and begin walking to the entrance gate.
Now for the hard part
"Halt!" One of the Tier Rangers orders. They approach me shining torches from their guns.
"Woah, Woah, calm down guys it's me." I state with my hand up and the other shielding my eyes from the bright torches.
"Lel?" One of the Tier Rangers says puzzled. I know this Tier Ranger all to well, he is the captain of the squadron here. We've know each other for a really long time. I've basically known him my whole life.
"Jax, buddy. Uhm I was just heading out..."
"No. Your mom said nothing about you going out at," he checks his info gauntlet for the time, "5:46 in the morning buddy."
I sigh. "Com'on Jax, why are you being so square today? I'll be back before she comes back. You and I do this all the time, you cover for me and I cover for you."
"It's different now, the U.N.I. Supreme Council meeting is coming up soon and rebels are gonna be...busy. So it's up to me to keep you guys safe and I won't be doing my job if I let you go, you know that Lel." He says as he slings his riffle over his shoulder.
Crap, think Lel! Think!
"I know this, that is why you guys can escort me to my...destination...yeah, destination." I say as I nervously shuffle my feet across the drive way.
He has his helmet on but I know his probably skeptically looking at me.
"And where is this destination?" He says folding his muscular arms over his huge chest.
"Uhm..." I say as I pretend to remember the place but in truth I'm trying to think of a place, "At Roy's house."
There's sickening quietness as he contemplates.
"Why are you going to Mr. Mako's place?" He asks sending yet another question my way.
"For some studying." I say not skipping a beat. Although we still had at least two months left of holiday, I was hoping he would buy the crap I sent him.
"Mhmmm, well for how long are you going to be there?"
Christ! Just let me go already!
