"Jacob, Edo! Get in my office now!"

I casually walk into the police chief's office with Edo not too far from my side, The Chief is once again angry as you'd expect.

We take our seats in the leather brown office chairs. Mr. Jenkins a.k.a "The Chief" pours himself a drink, whisky no doubt, he drinks it looking at us through the glass showing a awful lot of disdain in his eyes. The type that would make you look around awkwardly trying not to make eye contact with him.

"Where have both of you fools been?!"  He begins.

"Tracking down the hackers..."

"Bullshit!" He says nearly spitting his drink in our face - but I did feel a few splashes. There was a mean slur in his voice might I not add.

I didn't know if that was from the whiskey or anger.

He then pulls out his Holo-Screen. Playing the incident of what happened yesterday over and over.

"Sir I was just tracking a lead there's no harm in that but don't worry I won't press charges on the boy if that's what your worrying about." I say feeling my black eye.

"Damnit Jacob! You think this," he says gesturing at the screen, "Is a game?! You messed with the wrong people Pauw. I had five...no...six Supreme Council representatives here and they chewed the heck out of my arse! All because of your bloody shenanigans! Six Jacob, Six! One of them said you went to the Konn Manor! And now you will learn your actions have consequences..." He pinches the bridge of his nose as the veins in his neck and his forehead calm down, "Hand me your badge and pistol."

I nearly fall off my chair at the words.

"But sir..." I try.

"It's not what you like it's what's good for you." He says stretching his hand out, waiting for my badge and handgun.

"Sir I'm so close now I've found out things about the Supreme Council, things that could change the foundation of what we stand for... I'm so close now sir you can't end it for me like this." I plead.

"Quit your crying you baby. I'm not firing you, I'm suspending you for a month."

Holy...

"A month!!" I yell not caring who he is, no one is gonna suspend me for a damn month.

"Edo your dismissed." Edo then stands up and looks at me for a brief moment.

And you said I would get axed

Is probably what he was thinking. He then walks out with a smirk.

"The Council wanted your arse fired. If not for me and your fathers name you would be put in prison for all I know...or worse. This is why you shouldn't screw around with these type of people they can make you disappear fast. Now hand me your badge and gun Jacob."

I hold it caressing it one more time before I hand it over. I hear a door shut in my mind as he folds it in his hand. I also hand over my pistol.
