Reiji's Little Sister

Prologue

Mei's POV

Flashback

"Reiji that was great," father praised. "You will be a force to be reckoned with in the music world!"

"Thank you father, I'm happy I made you so proud," Reiji replied. "Even without mother here."

"You will be making your mother proud," father said, smiling. Father and Reiji were getting along so well. I wish father would love me like that. I want to play music too. If I make good music maybe father would finally notice me. Maybe onii-san will finally notice me too. One day we might be able to play music together. I smiled happily.

Flashback Ended

That was 8 years ago. When mother died, father and Reiji ignored me. Then Reiji soon left to become a big name in the music world, leaving me behind with father. Reiji had always hated me for some reason. I was the one who always visited mother when she was sick in the hospital and helping her until she couldn't fight it anymore. Reiji was always the one father liked. Father loved listening to Reiji's music. When I would play music for him, he had always said that Reiji was better. That was when onii-san was still living with us.

Ever since the day that he left father has been in terrible moods. Everyday he would come home drunk from the bar. He always hated the thought that his son and wife were gone and was only left with a good-for-nothing daughter. He was always angry. Father came home late at night and took all of his anger out on me. I had to endure it though. I still had that goal in my mind, the goal I had had ever since I was 5 years old. One day I will find a way to make music so father and onii-san will finally notice me. One day we will be a family once again. Until then, I will endure this and keep working hard in my music.

One day father had come home early. It was last year. For once he was not drunk. I was contently playing a new piece on the piano I had just composed and written the lyrics to. I hadn't noticed that he had walked into the house. He watched me from a distance. I finished the the song and I was so happy, because it was my first time ever writing a song for myself. He had been watching me and told me that the song was not bad. I was ecstatic, thinking that father had finally noticed me and that I was one step closer to gaining his love. That night I had slept peacefully with a wide smile on my face. I was such a fool.

The next day father came home and told me that I wasn't worthy to live with him anymore. I tried telling him about the song, but he refused. That day he kicked me out of my house with nothing but a couple of changes of clothing, and my old guitar. I wandered around aimlessly for a day or so. I had grown tired and pulled out the guitar case and starting singing the song that I had recently written. That day someone had heard me. It was a man by the name of Shining Saotome. He told me that I had the makings of an idol and should join his school Saotome Academy.

Now I am here, a year later. I recently debuted as an idol and composer. I went under the stage name of KIMMIE. I had made some great friends at Saotome Academy. They had also debuted as a group named Starish and their composer Nanami Haruka. Now all of us were going to begin our lives as professionals, living together at the Master Course. Little did I know, there was going to be a surprise in store for me.
