Welcome to the Master Course

Mei's POV

Starish, Haruka, and I were beginning the Master Course today. We had all graduated from Saotome Academy and now we were professionals. We were going to be living together in the Master Course dorms together, so that we would become better idols and composers. Today was the day we were supposed to be moving in. We were supposed to unpack and then head to the main room according to the president. Apparently he wanted to meet us, to tell us about something. I was heading to my room in the girl's dorm to begin unpacking. I finished quickly considering that I don't have very many things to begin with. I looked at my watch. We weren't supposed to meet the president just yet, so I decided to go next door and check up on Haruka.

"Hey Haruka!" I called walking through the door.

"Hi Mei, have you finished packing already," she asked.

"Yeah, I don't have very much stuff to unpack anyway," I told her.

"Oh really, well I have a ton of stuff," she replied laughing. I have never told any of my friends that I was related to Reiji Kotobuki of Quartet Night. They never asked about the last name. They probably thought it was just a coincidence anyway. Also, I didn't want to burden them with my past anyway. I just always wore jackets and jeans to cover up the scars.

"So, do you know what the president wanted to see us for?" I asked.

"No, I don't. Maybe he just wanted to welcome us to the Master Course," she replied.

"Yeah that might be it, but you know there might always be something else. Especially if it is Shining," I pointed out.

She laughed. "Well, Shining does have a record of surprising people."

"Let's head to the main room now," I said.

"Sure let me just grab the songs for everyone," she answered.

"OK," I said as I waited outside of the door. We walked to the main room together talking about new adventures that might occur while we were in the Master Course. We laughed our way into the room. We found that Starish was already there when we arrived.

"Hi everyone!" I called.

"Hey Mei-chan," Natsuki replied.

"Sup Mei," Syo said.

Haruka gave everyone their songs. Everyone thanked her. Starish is very lucky to have someone as talented as Haruka. I wish I could be as good as her.

"Heeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllloooooooooooooooo everybody!" a voice called out. That could only be one person.

"That voice," Otoya said.

"Could it be?" Syo asked.

"Happy idols share pure love," the president shouted.

"When did you get here?" Haruka asked.

"Boys and girls, welcome to the Master Course," Shining exclaimed.

"Principal...I mean president," Tokiya corrected.

"Yours and Mei's debut concerts were wonderful," he said dancing around like a wacko.

"T-thank you," Ittoki replied.

"But!" he exclaimed in front of Syo's face. "The reality is many bloom splendidly, but fade like fireworks." He grabbed Syo's hat and started spinning it around. "Only the devoted can become shining stars in the night sky." Shining started doing tricks with the fedora. "Allow me to introduce you to someone essential to helping you accomplish that." He threw the hat back on Syo's head.

"Who?" Syo asked.

I hear music starting to play. I feel like I have heard this song somewhere before.
