Nique Pullins.

I pushed the grey and blue Walmart cart through the store. I looked to my right and saw a toddler running around their mom acting like an airplane. I stopped the cart and watched.

"Mommy look! I'm an airplane!" The little boy smiled.

"That's nice sweetie..." she said still talking on her phone. I shook my head and kept walking. Why can't some parents understand that other parents out there aren't as lucky as them and can never get to even have a child and here this ignorant parent is ignoring their child. I looked back at the women and the little boy was crying about something. Help him. A voice in my head said. Mommy please help him. It was Myan!

"Mommy why can't I get the airplane!" the child shrieked.

"Because. now go put it back." The mom rolled her eyes.

"I'll pay for it!" I dragged the words out without thinking twice. The mom turned around and gave me a curious look. I gave her the money and the boy thanked me so many times that I thought he was a broken record player. I went along and fished in my purse for my shopping list. Looks like I only need to get one more thing and then I can get outta here. I pushed my buggy towards the soup isle and searched over the various cans of soup. I decided to pick chicken noodle and placed the can in my basket. I pushed my cart to the line and the cashier was arguing with the lady in front of me.

"Please ma'am! my family is very hungry and I'm only five short!" The lady cried.

"Five dollars is five dollars ma'am. Either you find the five or leave." The cashier argued. I dug through my purse again and pulled out a five. I gave it to the lady and she took it hesitantly.

"Thank you" she nodded smiling.

"Your welcome." I smiled and went back behind my buggy. The cashier snatched the five from the lady and printed the receipt. The lady zoomed out and looked back at me smiling, mouthing another thank you. I smiled back and waved. I put my stuff on the conveyor belt and the lady rung them up one by one, putting them into the grey and blue Walmart bags. I saw one of the male cashiers checking me out. As I was about to grab a bag I saw a masculine hand reach and grab it from my hand and neatly sits it in my buggy. I looked up at the mystery bag-grabber and it was a light skin guy. I read his name tag.

"Hi I'm Daniel." He smiles, showing his pearly white teeth. I nodded my head a wassup.

"Hello Daniel, I'm a costumer." I said as he put the last bag in my cart. I handed the lady my credit card and she swiped it on the credit card machine then handed it back to me. The receipt printed out and she gave it to me. I tucked the receipt in my jean pocket.

"Goodbye Daniel." I said pushing my buggy towards the exit.  I looked behind me and the Daniel dude was following me. I ignored him and continued to walk to my car. When I got to my car I unlocked it but when I was about to open it Daniel opened it before me.

"Why are you doing this?" I knitted my eyebrows.

"Because this is my job." He said smartly.

"Since when did Walmart workers help costumers outside?" I questioned.

"Since yesterday." He shrugged and continued to put my bags in the car. I leaned on the side of my car and waited until he was finished. Just after he finished, he closed the trunk.
