"I thought the base isn't safe," I sat in the backseat of a new SUV next to Mason, who tried to fix my wounds, I was resting on my back, dizzy and blacking out.

"It's not because Menendez knows where you're at," Mason fussed with me. "Quit moving!"

"Then where are we going?" I continued to make Mason have to struggle by moving with my painful waves.

Harper glanced in the rear-view mirror to me and then to Mason. Mason shook his head and finally left my face to be bloody. I leaned against his leg, my head spinning with a concussion. I couldn't show weakness by blacking out. Not now.

"You've got to me kidding me," I looked up to Mason who shrugged.

We had arrived at the place Woods was housed. I stifled a groan as the vehicle stopped and Harper got out. He opened my door and climbed up to gently help me up. I wrapped an arm around him and jumped down onto my good leg as we exited. Mason came on the other side of me and took over.

"W-What are we doing here?" I felt a blackout coming.

"Stay awake, Emma," Mason shook me while we walked.

I stumbled twice and Mason decided to pick me up bridal style. My head was beginning to spin worse than before and my ankle throbbed. Harper had run to open the door for us.

"I don't want to see the bastard," I whispered weakly and Mason let out an emotionless chuckle.

We reached Woods' room quicker than I thought we ever could. Harper burst through the door, generating cuss words from Woods. I barely had my eyes open to see Woods' gaze change from pissed to worried.

"What the fuck happened?"

"We'll explain later, Harper get the med kit," Mason rested me down onto the bed in the room.

Before I could try to argue and say that I was fine, my entire world blacked out.

"Try not to move miss," a gentle voice spoke when I opened my eyes.

Moving my gaze to where a nurse stood cleaning off a cloth, I narrowed my eyes. She turned to face me with brown eyes and brown hair pulled into a bun. Her smile was warm.

"You have a minor concussion and a sprained ankle," she explained. "You also received some stitches in your temple."

"Where are the men who were here?"

"Outside with Mr. Woods," the nurse widened her eyes as I slowly sat up.

"You cannot leave," the nurse told me gently.

"I have to see them," I pushed her away and stood up rather wobbly.

"At least let me help you," she sighed.

I used her support to limp out of the room. As we entered the hallway, Harper rounded the corner. His gaze brightened when he noticed me.

"Emma!"

The nurse released me as Harper gently hugged me. I smiled and took his arm as a support. Harper looked to the nurse.

"We won't need your help, thank you."

I couldn't see the gaze Harper gave her, but the nurse turned pink with embarrassment. Harper spanked her as she walked past us. I gave Harper a "really" look as he turned.

"What? Let me have my fun."

"Jesus Christ," I rolled my eyes and Harper laughed.

We entered a "backyard" to the retirement place. In the back of it, in the shade, sat Mason and Woods. They were speaking and actually laughing about something. I tried to use less support as we drew closer.
