|Draco|
Father had made me a vow that no matter where Leilani was, it was my duty to protect her. I am eleven years old, for Merlin's sakes! She hadn't come home for the holiday, Father didn't send her any presents this year. I had asked him and his response was "She didn't come home because I have asked her to."
It was difficult for me to understand, why Father would let his own daughter stay behind at Hogwarts? It was curiously strange, until Father disappeared for three days away from the manor. Mother never mentioned it to me of why he had gone. I was too young, but, I knew it has to do with what they lived for before I was born. The Dark Lord. But, it couldn't be him, Potter had him killed as a baby...
"Draco, you vow to protect Leilani no matter where she is and what she does?"
"Yes, Father." I went back on the train with my friends.
Once at Hogwarts, I went looking for Leilani. I had missed her, but she was with Potter and Weasel-bee at the Gryffindork's table. Ugh! Potter, Boy Wonder!
Leilani, meet me tonight? I have your presents.
Alright, Draco. I have some for you too. I found this room during the Holiday.
Bloody hell, you want us to get caught!
No. We wait until after midnight.
I had waited 10 minutes after midnight to leave the Common Room, i saw Leilani in the hall and I followed her to a corridor. A door appeared and we entered it. It was filled with old furniture and things. It changed to a home like feel, a fireplace with a love seat and a table.
"How did you find this?" I ask my sister, curiously.
"I was walking by one day and thought of a secret place to hang out, that's when the door appeared. I came in and it changes to how you feel or what you what it to change to." She looked over at me. "Ready?" She pulled some tiny objects out of her robe.
"Yeah." I did the same with my gifts.
We sat by the fireplace, opened gifts, and talked of our holiday. I knew she was avoiding anything about Potter and Weasel to me. I told her about Father and how there were no gifts for her because he had asked her to stay in the school instead. She cried. I held her close to me as best I could.
"I thought you should know about what he said because I shouldn't keep things from my own sister." I took the tears away with my thumb.
"It's alright, Drake." She finally looked over at me. "Now I know how much Father cares about me. I shouldn't never left Hogwarts to live at the Manor. I knew how much living there would cost and he has tossed me once he knew I was back where I really belong." She got up from the floor.
Leilani gathered her gifts into her robe, kissed my cheek and was walking to the door.
"Lei, I do not think Father would do that to you? Not really. Honestly Leilani, he would never toss you off like that after two years with us?"
"Draco, he sent me an owl saying you were going home and I was to stay here. He's ashamed of me, that's how he feels, fine."
I took her arm, "Lei, he would never toss you. You're his princess." I try to assure her.
"Alright. If he shows that he's tossed me, I'm leaving." I nod and we left the room to our houses, I walked her to Gryffindor Tower. "Goodnight Leilani." I kissed her cheek.
