Ok, I'm bored and feel like writing because I cant handle another Phan fic where Dan dies. Its always Dan.
15 READS!! Honestly it may not seem like a big deal, but I actually didn't think I'd even get 3 so yay!
-The Friday before the Friday of the marathon-
Friday, September 19th
Sam was not ready to go to school. He was upset about the days before. He didn't understand why Gabe was beginning to grow distant. Well, sort of. It all started earlier that week, when Gabe left early to go get that check-up at the hospital. He recalled Gabe saying something about diabetes (obviously in a joking tone) but it didn't make sense that, if he even had it, Gabe would be so distant about it. He didn't want to see Gabe at the moment, and he was more than happy that he wouldn't see him all weekend.
Gabe was scared to talk to Sam. Not because he likes Sam, but because he didn't want him to find out about what was really going on the day he left school early. Sam was smart, and Gabe knew to never underestimate him. Gabe knew if he spent too much time with him, he would begin to notice his change in attitude. But if he kept too distant, he would suspect something was up. Gabe was happy it was the last day of the week. He couldn't stand to see Sam or really anyone else right now.

Sam got a ride with Dean, like he had for the last 3 days. Dean had tried to bring up Gabe on these occasions but it became a touchy subject for Sam. His first real friend in 4 years and he basically stopped talking to him. Sam definitely didn't want to think about it.
He got out of the car and watched Dean pull ahead to where his classes were. He didn't want to walk in that school. If he did it would all be the same. He would see Gabe at the lockers, Gabe would ignore him and rush to History, Sam would have to sit by Gabe in an awkward silence, Sam would go to lunch to find that Gabe had left early, as he had everyday since. For Sam, that was a vicious cycle, seeing his only friend avoid him. He didn't know what to think.
He thought about just making other friends but that sounded laughable to Sam.
~~~~~~~~
Gabe walked to his locker and quickly grabbed everything for his first class, for fear he would run into Sam in the hall. Gabe walked into class to find Sam wasn't there and he hadn't gone to his locker. He was both relieved and worried.
At least I don't have to deal with our silences anymore. Well yea, but what if he's hurt? Sam never missed school, for anything. Nerd. What if he was dead somewhere and I never got to say goodbye? Or at least apologize for leaving him. Why am I so extra? He's obviously alive, maybe dead on the inside but aren't we all? He's fine. totally.
Gabriel finally convinced himself he was right and 'listened' for the rest of the class.
Sam was at the local park sitting on a swing. The throbbing in his head was annoying, he was actually a bit sick. If he told his parents he was sick, his mother would go on and on and probably make him go to the hospital. The weekend was here anyhow.
It hurt him that he was actually excited at the thought of not seeing Gabe, but he couldn't handle they way he was acting. Sam found that he was already dealing with being sick and didn't even have time to thin about his friend. Gabe was so aggravating. Sam let out an audible sigh and pushed himself on the swing.
Sam was angry at him for the time being.
He hadn't known Gabe long, only 2 weeks, but Sam felt that Gabe wouldn't just act like this for no reason.
