Adamandriel chapter
Let's do this

Saturday, November 27th
(just realized I skipped Thanksgiving but fuck it)
"We don't have to do this," Adam giggled with a wide smile as Alfie dragged him down the street.
"But I want us to!" Alfie smiled in his usual soft voice, pulling Adam along.
Earlier that day, they were talking about their childhood while drinking milkshakes and Alfie discovered Adam never really got to have the amazing and fun childhood experience. Alfie wanted to change that.
He wrote down a list of 3 things Adam didn't do onto a napkin and planned to spend the rest of the day doing them.
1. Play Lava (ground is lava)
2. Make a pillow fort
3. Collectively watch Pixar films
They stopped at Alfie's door and he let Adam inside first.
"Mother! Do you mind if Adam and I use the living area for the rest of the day?" Alfie took his and Adam's jacket, hanging them on the coat rack.
"Hey, boys! No problem, honey. I'll tell your father." She hollered from the kitchen. Adam had been to their house numerous times already so she was used to it.
"Thank you, Mrs. James!" Adam called as his friend jumped on the sofa like a 5 year old.
"Okay," Alfie laughed in between breaths. "The first item on the list states the game 'Lava.' Which loosely translates to get up here before you burn and melt!" He reached out a hand and Adam took it, jumping onto the couch.
To Adam and most other, Alfie was the type of person to read to you or give inspiration or sit in the dark eating saltine crackers. He was never truly outgoing, he hardly talked to anyone. This certainly was out of character and Adam felt lucky to be the only person seeing him like this.
"The idea of the game is that you cannot touch the floor, at all! The first one to make it to the kitchen wins, loser helps mother make dinner! Do you agree on these terms?" Even as a laughing child Alfie had amazing grammar.
Adam nodded and the game began.
"Let the battle commence!" Alfie giggled, throwing down a couch cushion. He swiftly jumped from the cushion to the coffee table in the center of the room.
"You're on!" Adam took the other cushion and made a shortcut by gently tossing it from the side of the couch, causing it to land about 3 yards from the kitchen door.
Adam jumped on the first cushion then to the next. He was in the lead.
Secretly, Alfie could've beat him from the moment they started, he was the best at this game when he was young. But when he saw Adam's toothy smile, he wanted him to win. Alfie watched him stand on the cushion and turn his head either way, looking for a way to get those last 3 yards.
With a sudden burst of confidence, Adam took his own shirt off and glided it to the middle of the space between him and victory.
Alfie stood in shock. Adam was shirtless. He was distracted from everything but how amazing Adam looked.
Adam jumped with one foot in front of the other. He landed right on his shirt but he had completely forgotten how slippery that out be. He glided into the kitchen door face first and fell backwards, back onto the couch cushion.
