Dan was a regular at the little coffee shop down the road. He came in every few days, got his coffee and sat in the corner on his laptop.

He glanced up when he heard whispering and found that the cute boy that was always working was glancing over at him as he talked to his co-worker. The boy started blushing when he saw that Dan was looking at him. Dan smirked, looking back at his laptop.

A few minutes of more intense and not so quiet whispering and Dan heard a, "PJ! St- oof!"

Dan looked over, startled, and saw blue eyes on the floor. His face was red as a tomato and he looked like he wanted to be sucked into a black hole to get away from this embarrassing situation. Dan could relate.

He looked up at him sheepishly, giving Dan an awkward smile and a little wave. He giggled, smiling and waving back.

The boy got up quickly, taking a few steps to stand next to Dan. They stayed like that for a few seconds, staring at each other, surrounded by an awkward silence.

Dan cleared his throat. "Uh, hi," he said, giving him a small smile.

"Hi, sorry about my friend it's just that you're really cute and I've been wanting to talk to you for the longest but I'm too shy but here I am rambling about how much I like you- I'm gonna stop now."

He looks at me sheepishly, verging on embarrassment but also relief in a way. It's not like he told me anything I didn't know already. Every time I'm in here I feel his eyes on me and I'm so tempted to stare back because damn those eyes; they're so blue and I can't even begin to describe how breathtaking they are.

I giggle at his words and the realization I've been staring at him this whole time, lost in my thoughts.

"You're not so bad yourself, darling." I wink at him, taking in his reaction and laughing.

His cheeks flush more if that's even possible, eyes blown wide and he hides his face in his hands; his fringe hanging down and I see a hint of ginger roots.

"I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable. Did I?"

He shakes his head, still not looking up at me.

"Well how about I still make up for that by taking you on a date. How does that sound? But first I'd like to know your name."

His head shoots up at that, that same expression from earlier plastered on his face.

"Uh, I'm Phil and that sound good, I guess. Are you sure? I mean. . ." He kinda trails off, looking down with doubt in his eyes. It takes me a second to realize what he's hinting at.

"Do you think you're not good enough? Oh, Phil, if anything I'm not I mean, look at you. Your striking blue eyes and dark hair contrast so beautifully and you as a whole is just stunning. I'm lucky that you're even talking to me."

"Thank you. . ." He looks at me with eyebrows raised and soft smile on his lips.

"Dan."

"Thank you, Dan. That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me."

"Of course. So, how about that date?"

"I'd love to."

"FINALLY!" Phil's friend, who I am assuming is PJ, yells, fist pumping the air.

I giggle, closing my laptop and packing it away.

"Well I have to go now, Phil. Give me your number and I'll text you when I'm free. Which is more than likely tomorrow because I'm a loser who has no life." Phil laughs at that, taking his phone out because he can never remember his number.

"Alright." I stand, slinging my bag over my shoulder. "I need to get going." Phil stands too.

"Yeah I need to get back to work. So, I'll see you tomorrow then?"

I nod, taking a step closer and kissing his cheek.

"See you tomorrow."
